Because you have to develop the game for PS5 basic anyway. From a development point of view, you have to make the game intentionally shittier to compensate for the weak consoles power compared to PCs. The PS5 pro doesn't change anything for the devs because they have to develop for the basic PS5 anyway.

When you talking about consoles, can you tell me,:
Why are there or no true next gen graphic games for consoles? A graphic that surprises and amazes, and exceeds all expectations. Do you think that will change with the Ps5pro or next gen consoles like PS6, Xbox?

        Anonymous

        Has multiple reasons.
        1. Graphics cards are not as strong as you think they are, the big next gen gpus are too big to fit in consoles and require way too much electricity to run.
        2. Price has to be below 1000 $ or the console won't sell
        3. Developers became lazy because everyone uses Unreal Engine and they don't have to learn optimization, or even making their own engines. Developers are simply less and less qualified because their game design schools teach them useless wrong bullshit.
        4. The great processing power required to achieve this high of graphics require extreme high amount of cooling, which homeconsoles aren't meant to do. Ideally homeconsoles need watercooling but consoles need to be somewhat robust because it's still a toy in a sense. Unlike a pc.
The closest we came to next gen graphics was Red Dead Redemtion 2 with dynamic clothing meshes, dynamic weather transformation, etc.
The change that PSpro will change anything is low, at best it will increase the framerate slightly.
The chance that PS6 will change something is also low, because consoles are always at least 1 GPU generation behind on release to justify the building price. Based on what NVIDIA plans for upcomming gpus it does not seem like they care much about small size, compact designs or less power requirements, but instead go for even bigger power drains and chipboards.
Furthermore the chance that a next Xbox or PS6 will ever exist is low because the companies are out of touch with the industry and lose millions on profit every year. The only way they can come back in graphical power is if the chip industry has a design massive size-efficienzy revolution which is unlikely because the only revolutions happening in the last 10 years are in storage, not in processing power.

    >wow this more expensive console can run games at 60 FPS, just like the previous console advertised except this time they're telling the truth!
PS5 Pro will go over like a lead balloon.

      >60 FPS
Lol nope, they arent giving more power to the CPU anon

Yeah, PS5 Pro was devised to handle Unreal Engine 5 games and ray tracing a bit better. Games will run closer to the 4K target.

but ray tracing was the regular PS5's selling point
and UE5 was specifically made for amazing new PS5's """"""tech"""""" which was a fricking SSD

Wouldn't be surprised if normies legitimately thought that Sony invented the SSD.

The peeps at Digital Foundry said that the console manufacturers make the decisions on hardware well in advance. UE5 was still in development at the time.

Because the base PS5 has no games.

Why do you post this dumb shit?

The games could run at 4k already but no matter how powerful console hardware gets, western devs will always add more pores and pimples to Alloys face until her shitty games run a 1080/30 at best.

            >The games could run at 4k
Sure the game itself could but the console would be sweating and anytime the console runs into trouble, it engages its "dynamic resolution scaling". where it downscales resolution

The irony is that Horizon actually does great job on the performance and resolution side.

Because you don't need that additional juice. A shitton of games still release on PS4 and snöy thinks devs need a PS5 Pro.

It's marginally better. At best, raytracing will run better, but then again, they still have to make game playable on base PS5.
It won't turn 30 fps PS5 games into 60 fps all of sudden and it won't turn 720p performance mode into 1080p. CPU is reportedly exactly the same.

I think it's because people are getting these frickhuge 65"+ TVs now and uspcaled dynamic res 1440p doesn't look that good on them. The tinfoil hat enthusiast in me believes it's for shareholders, "we're launching a new product on our ultra profitable console segment" looks good on the annual report.

Im using the ps5 as a glorified ps4 emulator. Problem is, there still aren't that many games worth owning.
    DMC5
    MHW
    Dead island 2
    .....
Imagine someone mandating you have to lock features of your game to the newest gizmo only for that to backfire and cripple your sales?
