>In that sense, it's not simply a remake - I think it's more than that
Probably one of the greatest vidya dev quotes of all time. Now compare that to Masuda on ORAS: >We created a "balanced" game that was suited for our time and age, where everyone is very busy and young people have various means of entertainment. Using smartphones and other devices they can access a great number of games, so the time they dedicate to a single game is less than in the past. We didn't put the BF in ORAS for this very reason.
I can't be the only one who thinks this is a horrible attitude to have when directing. "oh who cares because only X amount of people will like it"
It is a horrible attitude to have, and it's a horrible quote to hear as a fan who was looking forward to the games. It goes to show how at that point, it was no longer about making something they were passionate about for people to enjoy, it was about making a product to sell, and they cut effort in proportion to expected fiscal performance.
You could say they should have stepped away from development at the point the attitude began to shift, but I bet there's some contractual frickery keeping each and every party involved anchored to a money cow that they all hate now.
Pretty much all the other directors who spearheaded a B game felt like they deserved the promotion to head director over Ohmori, but maybe thats just ignorance.
See the thing is with Pokemon fans is they try to make their favorite game look better by knocking down the other games, especially other popular ones.
You just don’t understand the rush, and that’s fine for some people it doesn’t click.
But I don’t think its too hard to understand that you feel far more attached to your team when they are both visually distinct and a result of countless hours of dedication.
Because HGSS is the peak of Pokémon.
because they are the best pokemon games
The director of hgss was a fan of gsc so he knew what the people wanted.
Masuda and Ohmori didn't direct it.
They were greedy
WISH THEY WERE GREEDY AGAIN 🙁

God, the universe or what have you wanted hgss to be the best games in the series.

Lol even the famous Japanese work ethic is no match for globohomosexual gaygery.
That quote was the first thing I thought of when I saw BDSP.

Masuda should have let Ohmori talk about it instead of taking the blame for him
kek no wonder they never let him touch the directors chair again
Because they were jealous of his ambition, you mean?
yea he made them sweat too much and they hated him for it
in fairness, working with sprites was always going to be easier than working with models.
He's so based. This is why HGSS are my favorite Pokemon games of all time. They really packed so much into these games.
They knew that of they did more than the bare minimum, that would be the expectation here on out.
Thank you GameFreak
>also directed Emerald
He's simply too based for GayFreak
Pretty much all the other directors who spearheaded a B game felt like they deserved the promotion to head director over Ohmori, but maybe thats just ignorance.
No wonder the Battle Tower was a fun area
The fact that Gen Alphas and trannies (usually Unova fans) are hating on HGSS nowadays shows Masuda was right about Pokémon fans.
See the thing is with Pokemon fans is they try to make their favorite game look better by knocking down the other games, especially other popular ones.
i kneel
I can't believe they made shiny overworld sprites for all 500+ Pokemon/altforms in HGSS, but we STILL don't have shiny PC menu sprites
I really hope you did waste away hours for this. It's just not worth the shit ivs and crappy nature. Just shark bro

>nobody debunked OP yet
shit, i guess /vp/ really doesn't play the new games
Doesn't RSE show you if the Starter is shiny before picking?
never understood why, how hard is it to load the mon before picking rather than after? Was it truly just because of Morimoto?
>shinylocks your starters instead
nothing personnel, galar and paldea frickos
>reset for a shiny starter
>the one that ends up being shiny isn't the one you were going for
WDYD?
If I already have that shiny starter, just reset, but if I don't have it, just go with it despite not being the one I wanted.
Just trade it to another game if you really want the specific shiny starter.
imagine seeing 2 or even god forbid 3 shiny starters at once in hgss. i mean what the hell do you do then
Guess just pick the one you like the most.
>introduces shiny locking in the following games
Someone saw this supremely based feature and decided it was a mistake that needed to be prevented from ever happening again.
