Mix of most of of their big franchises already being in and third-party doors getting opened more in Ultimate.
I actually really like it when we see their lesser known franchises though

People were clamoring to see Inklings and characters from ARMS make it into Smash before they did.
That was before ultimate came out and its dlc started

Don't care about the topic and I haven't played it in years, but I just want to say that I still like Ike and my friends always got pissed because I was too good with him.
One friend also got pissed when I used Bardock in Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 because I was too good at timing my instant cinematic beam blasts during those fly attacks (he was always much faster than me at rolling the analog sticks) and always beat him when he used Frieza. He was good with Freiza because it was his favorite character and that motherfricker had too many heath bars on reserve. I'd always cheese him with "weak" characters like Krillin. Good times.
What are you even talking about? Since when are ANY new characters being added? Smash has been done has since Fighter Pass 2.
