I'm sure many people have no problem assembling Hasbro toys or shoes at a factory, so long as they get paid a fair wage with benefits and work conditions that aren't cruel and unusual. It's not rapidly dropping, but it is certainly going to shit. Jobs pay like shit, cold as frick especially since its next to one of the great lakes (which just makes it colder even on "warm" days). And there is literally endless construction on the roads in wisconsin no matter where you are.

People that think Wi is just flat and full of corn have never been here. 2 inland sea sized lakes, a massive forest in the north, the apostle islands, a lot of glacial actively that formed limestone deposits and deep valleys, tons of rivers and lakes, and it’s very clean. Milwaukee and Madison are awful, but outside of that it’s great. GPG.

Northern Michigan on the coast is paradise. Hot summer beaches, beautiful fall foliage, skiing in the winter. Very conservative. Very tight-knit communities. Cost of living is cheap.

So industries moved where organized labor wasn't nearly as strong like in the South and the West Coast. It's why when Japanese and European car manufacturers started building cars here they built their factories in states like Texas and Alabama. Honda went out of their way to ensure their Marysville employees didn't join the UAW, which resulted in that plant having the best record in the industry in terms of output quality.

i'm 31 and live in a southwestern ont town that is basically the same as any small midwestern town. 99% of young people get out of here ASAP. the ones who don't are miserable and mentally ill. the average age here is like 55-60 and everyone is a shut in. the biggest change up here in 30 years is we now have a lot of homeless drug addicts who are (shocker) overwhelmingly younger. also the past 10 years or so we got a lot of pajeet immigrants who i would take over the aggressive homeless meth addicts the police do nothing about despite getting the most funding in the city.
This is why sheriff's departments operate on tickets. Incentive to actually enforce laws, because their income is based on how many people they bring in.
I thank my lucky stars my city decided to abolish the municipal PD and make the county sheriff the sole law enforcement within the municipal area. They actually clean up the shitty parts of town and keep the nigs somewhat civil. One of the safest cities in the country with a 30+% black population
