Why are there so many people that pronounce it 'Gliss-Core' when it couldn't be any more obvious that it's name is just a mash-up of 'glide' and 'scorpion'? Are they moronic?

95% of people pronounce Deliburd's name wrong and if you're one of them you are obligated to shut the frick up on the grounds of you being a hypocrite.

Deliburd is supposed to be the word delivered with a B sound

The "wrong" pronunciation is the official one, the english dubs just follow the japanese pronunciation.
It works as a pun on Adélie anyway.

Translators fricked up when localizing the name. They could've chosen a more intuitive spelling. It's just like how Arceus logically should be pronounced with a soft c but it's canonically supposed to be hard.

all they needed was an 'h' in there and it would have been not just phoenetically correct, but also etymologically

There are people who still pronounce it “Rye-koo” because of the shitty legend of thunder dub, despite TPCI having correctly pronounced it “Rye-koh” for over a decade now, aka exactly how the katakana is written because its name is literally just an existing Japanese word for lightning.
