Why are you not playing the most ambitious mod in Total War history?
There is even a cheat mod for those that got filtered by the unit upkeeps.

Take your remastered garbage and shove it up your ass.
No
Why do they keep adding random Greek city states? I don't care about hellenic spearmanii variant 12
It's called the Hellenistic Period for a reason anon.
Well, it isn't called the Hellenic Period for a reason too.
>Why do they keep adding random Greek city states?
Greeks and their offshoots are the most popular. So makes sense to rework all of their units first. Also, every other faction shares armor and weapons with the Greeks, so once they finish them, the other factions will be easier since they could reuse equipment. Something like Rome would probably an entire update on its own, but that would be for only one faction.
Post the full map
How is the UI so bad is it really not possible to change it?
How do you not get bored having so many cities to conquer and manage? The time period's greatest strength is the breadth of the map and the variety in factions to fight that brings, what's the point of spending half the game fighting in a single region again and again?
>The time period's greatest strength is the breadth of the map and the variety in factions to fight that brings,
I agree but I think a big map does it justice. Sure you may not be able to easily do a WC now, but I think it makes each campaign more unique, not less. Since you spend more time in each region, youre not going to travel halfway around the world to go fight other factions. So, to see that part of the world, you will have to play as a faction in that part. In a way, it kind of allows you to experience the variety of factions moreseo than something like a smaller map.
It also makes excursions into new territory much more fun imo. You really feel like Caesar when you step into Gaul, its a long fought campaign that feels rewarding. Or as Syracuse, the battle for the island feels like a proper battle, instead of the usual 3 cities like in most other mods. I imagine the big map will work work even better when the factions are all fleshed out with scripts and events.
Doesn't matter how many provinces you add. Campaign map gameplay of TW is infantile garbage.
not working on win7
Been playing a Cyrene campaign recently, it's a pretty neat starting scenario. You're basically an offshoot of the Ptolemies that is disgusted with their incest and general acceptance of native customs. You also start off as allies with based Seleucids.
The battles seems pretty good, they seem to have found a good balance between vanilla and historical. Units don't rout instantly if they get touched by cavalry, but battles don't last forever either.
I like where the economy is going, but it's just not there yet. It has the potential to be great though.
>The battles seems pretty good, they seem to have found a good balance between vanilla and historical.
I still find siege battles to be an absolute slog though. Anything thats on the walls take forever to kill.
Because my life is hell and I don't have time to enjoy anything.
Let me guess, the AI is still brain damaged and all this bloat only adds to the tedium of painting the map.
>MORE SETTLEMENTS
> MORE GOOD

I'm playing EB mod until they add all the units to RIS, the roster is a little bit bare at the moment. The map is absolutely fantastic though and when its finished it will be amazing, great to see this game going stronger and stronger after 20 years
I'm about to get absolutely assraped here though, I've never seen anything like this. The german units have much higher morale than my roman units so every fight is a battle to death with almost no survivors and I cant replace the losses fast enough so it looks like we are proper fricked, might try to move some hoplites and elephants to the alps but they wont get here in time.
wtf is that map with EB?
The current version of EB for Rome remastered has been bloatmaxxxed to be even geographically larger than RIS but not as intricate or detailed. I think its called "mundus magni" (something like that) and you can play it or the original map, but after playing this I wouldn't go back to the old map.
It really changes things up, I got the Marian reform after capturing 90 settlements along the Mediterranean coast so I can recruit roman troops to defend my frontiers but the AI is spamming an insane amount of troops due to the upscaled economy, overall I'd say its genius.
The entire Indian sub-continent is there as rebel cities and in my current game Baktria is expanding through it slowly while the Parthians come up behind them.
I'd imagine that in the late game, whoever conquers it and then starts spamming troops westwards will be an unstoppable juggernaut even by EB standards.
I triggered wars with Germans and Seleucids to draw all their troops towards me for the slaughter, to stop them both growing too strong and taking everyone else out.
I am helping out AI factions in danger of getting swamped to keep them all fighting each other and maintain a balance of power so they leave me alone until I'm ready to shit on them.
goddamn
Amen brother.
Im having a blast playing EB with the new map.
The atmosphere and building trees still beats RIS. Even though the map feels a bit barren to begin with it makes for interesting campaings once each factions turns into a local superpower.
The AI seems better/different now. I dont remember it being able to siege multiple cities simulatnoulsy.
Just open the mod files and fix the units. Modding RTW is piss easy, it's all text files.
Way too many settlements. One thing CA got right with later historical titles is less settlements, it keeps the campaign nice a concise and focused.
Too much in some areas and not enough in others. Britain and Ireland need more and Greece needs less. Those mega factions need to be split up as well. The Greek states and the Germans need to be split into cities and tribes.
theres like ten different greek states. what you talking about?
Didn't realise those were only some of the factions
>One thing CA got right with later historical titles is less settlements, it keeps the campaign nice a concise and focused.
>Conquest half europe with two battle in Empire.
I am reading the russian campain during the ww2 and it's not so easy to conquest a nation, i mean you don't really need a book to understand it.
have a nice day
Not enough settlements
I already played RS3 and it doesn't require me to dedicate 50gb to a 20 year old game. It also doesn't demand I use a shitty OS. Therefor it is the superior version.
> It also doesn't demand I use a shitty OS.
Yea thats why the Remastered is superior indeed. It doesnt require you to use shitty Windows, you can use Linux like a functioning human being.
>you can use Linux like a functioning human being.
good one
because im still waiting for the real most ambitious mod. Which is one that adds gunpowder and makes the game run from pike and shot to breech loading guns
im waiting for the real most ambitious mod
just play Troy Total War bro
>the most ambitious X in Ys history
Into the trash it goes
what mod is that
Divide and Conquer
Divide and Conquer: Warhammer?
Total War Divide and Conquer: Warhammer
warhammer
I’ve been having fun playing the Chivalry mod, but it really makes me want ME2 Remaster as soon as possible
does that include gunpowder?
I think they just started to add gun powder in the Late Campaign beta, but I’m not sure how it works.
>I think they just started to add gun powder in the Late Campaign beta,
for real? im in.
Chivalry as the Bulgarian rebellion in the early era is hard as balls
what mod is it?
ebin
That's not the right one. Which one is it?
I'm absolutely baffled as to why they didn't at least include the rest of Asia. I love the huge map but if that's going to be your selling point at least go balls to the wall right?
I think that other big map has India.
Has anybody taken a Rome campaign to its historical conclusion here? I wonder how much income you receive.
Just wait until someone submods EB2 cursus honorum autism here
i played an epirus campaign. once i took over greece save for the Peloponnese, i was able to field like 2ish armies. you could probably field a lot of armies if you have the roman empire to its historical extent.
I'm at 150 b.c and have most of the coast of the Mediterranean except for Gaul, Ptolemys and the Seleucids. I'm making 1 million per turn and have around 2000 units.
Its probably the most fun I've ever had with TW, so many close battles due to the AI hitting you with huge numbers. Just had a crazy one against Carthage where they had about 10,000 skirmishers plus the usual phalanxes and heavy cav and only won because we pulled back onto a hill.
Another one, first time I played this my computer crashed at the end, so I replayed it and lost the second time
why didnt you cheese inside the fort?
The AI seems to just put your forts under siege until they surrender in 2 turns so if you don't attack you lose your army
Why the frick are your troops outside the fort though?
I launched the battle and they had no rams so they would just sit there doing nothing if I stayed in the fort, and there was about 7000 of them in two armies in total so I had to induce the first army to attack before the second one joined it because would be impossible to beat them when combined
dk what it is, but a nice defensive shieldwall always gets me hard
>most ambitious mod
Third age Divide and Conquer? Or is it Europa Barborum?
>modding limits
by default it literally cannot be the most ambitious
God I wish the Europa Barbarorum port wasn't so amateurish, I vastly perfer 1 to 2. I am still hoping against hope that CA let's feral take a crack at a med 2 "remaster" so modding limits can be lifted like Rome 1. Imagine what divide and conquer would look like without settlement limits or unit caps, the bloat would be amazing.
>Imagine what divide and conquer would look like without settlement limits or unit caps
>More terrible fanfiction
god no
Fanfiction is fun. I found the fanfiction factions fun enough, Angmar, Northern Dúnedain, and Dunland are all fun additions. I very much would like more bloat units for the Dúnedain, more bloat units for the orcs and goblins, and a few more bloat factions like Rhovanion. But the biggest thing are unit caps being removed. That is the worst part of med 2.
on the upcoming economy changes
on the new huge map by kirsi for chiv remastered
The Seljuks are absolutely fricking huge
frickin BUMP
why bump let it die
im going to make the thread again when they drop the update
What's coming in the next update? I saw the economy update up above, that looks good, but I hope there's a bit more than that.
Seriously, what mod is that that makes map look like this?
ITS OUT
>steam API didn't return a download link for any of the mods
>nobody ever posts or updates their mod on moddb
My brief interest in this game is completely gone.
