Actually, I do use ESDF. I prefer to keep my fingers on the home position for games as well as typing.
TFGH or bust
I can understand shifting to WASD, especially since it's the default in many cases. But why rebind to key setups to the left of the keyboard home row? I've never had a need for 9 keys that I use the pinky to hit.
I can understand that. Although by the time you're playing a MMO, I'd thought that your keyboard was just all hotkeys and you used the mouse for character controls.
This the only downside. You have to redo muscle memory and will hit the wrong number keys on occassion, unless you rebind the number keys too (like I did)
I had to rebind all my shit when I played classic WoW on Grobbulus for 2 months when I was getting back into gaming again.
I've been using ESDF for years and pressing 1 is awkward when I switch to WASD. ESDF is the normal home row typing position and should have been the standard from the beginning.
I just side-stepped the issue and switched all my keybinds one button to the right as well
so instead of using like >1 primary 2 secondary 3 melee
I use >2 primary 3 secondary 4 melee
and use 1 and ~ for shit like grenades and such

i'm not ripping out all the keys in my keyboard
I do, rebindable menus are like gold nuggets.
Shift is too far away
small hands typed this
Left hand resets on the homerow just like touch typing.
If you have baby hands rebind shift to Z
holy baby hands
I play piano a bit but goddamn
I can rest my hand on TFGH and still reach Shift comfortably
>and still reach Shift comfortably
he doesn't have baby hands you have hulk hands
>Shift is too far away
its to far away. cant comfortably press shift with your pinky while your 3 other fingers are on esdf
>he doesnt use shift
ISHYGDDT
I've been using ESDF since I learned to touch type properly a couple of decades ago
I use ESDF since Arma 3 release (2013)
even i have tiny hands and prefer esdf
I'm not. I also use my left palm to press down CTRL. I am in the top 1% of autism.
My hands aren’t big they are bigger than a Japanese though so I have no excuse
I only use RAGE
too lazy to rebind
when playing vidya I just want to start it maybe google some optimized settings if it's a modern title then play
What games are you playing that you need that many fricking keybinds
I use RDFG now

MMO's mean I need access to more keys and so that was the reason. I'm the RDFG guy.

same time post ftw
I'm not a woman nor do I have a narrow shoulder
>ESL moron thinks we care
I see it
It becomes clearer with time, Anon. Just remember that you're here forever.
So it's easier for me to bump CTRL with the side of my hand.
I use the superior analog stick which has orders of magnitude more freedom of movement compared to WASD's "on" or "off"
both control schemes are better for different genres of games
I own a wooting so I have both analog from magnet switches and regular keys
I use asdx
i use OKL;
