The thing is that back in the 2000s or the early 2010s, this kind of weird fetish shit absolutely existed, but everybody implicitly acknowledged there was something shameful about it. There would be no chance whatsoever of anything they posted about on the internet ever being connected to their real-life person, and if it ever did happen (doxxing) this was seen as a life-ruining event.
