Why aren't more games like Kingdom Hearts?
>great combat system
>fun minigames every world to break up any potential for tedium
>zones always have cool, forced fights with specific win conditions to break up any potential for tedium
>incredible bosses with fantastic music
>takes from all of the best types of vidya and mashes it into a gigantic themepark
Simply the best vidya franchise possible. Pure fun condensed.

We already have tons of shitty games.
>change zones
>5m cutscene with nomuras rediculously convoluted lore
>combat
>change zones
>5m of but roxas is inside me? He is my nobody of my somebody of ventus who looks just like him but was in a keyboard war 7 trillion years ago and died to xehabald whose cope hairful somebody i nobodied after i had sex with kairis somebody nobody who is in the shadowrealm protecting whosebody?
>shut off game
Literally went to shit storywise after kh1
KH2 is the peak of the series and the peak of video game narratives.
Mongoloid.
KH2 has so many cutscenes is insane. Like each world without cutscenes would be 15 minutes long at most. Legitimately one of the most overrated games I've ever played.
>KH2 has so many cutscenes *its insane
And I love every single one of them.
That's a pretty normal jrpg anon.
Kingdom Hearts is just japanese take on YIIK.
>takes from all of the best types of vidya and mashes it into a gigantic themepark
there's hardly any other studio than squeenix that has the clout to have a disney IPs to lure suckers over along with final fantasy nonsense
But Disney's ran out of good properties so Kingdom Hearts is fizzling out.
>Disney's ran out of good properties
>Mary Poppins
>The Incredibles
>Muppets
>Coco
>Inside Out
>Robin Hood
>Wreck It Ralph (already in mobile games)
>Princsess and the Frog
>an actual Lilo and Stitch world
>both Rescuers movies
>Emperors New Groove
>Finding Nemo
>OG Star Wars (already in trailer)
>Emperors New Groove
i want it but i feel like it would suck
You'd have had that with Versus XIII if Square had let them properly start its production, before completely cannibalizing the team for fricking FFXIV. Now the glorious KH2 is non-existent and we'll only get trash Osaka Team garbage.
you forgot the great music, compassionate characters, and slick openings
yeah maybe if you were 15 when it came out, the only redeeming factor is the soundtrack
cope and seethe for having no sincerity or love
Kingdom Hearts is the only series more cringe than 3D Sonic, we certainly don't need more of it but you're getting that with modern Final Fantasy. Enjoy your garbage.
I wouldn't be celebrating Sonic in any way that franchise is shit. And don't say Sonic Super Stars looks good. Looks worse than the Genesis games.
You can bet I'd never even bother with a title like "Sonic Super Stars" the only game I played after 3 was Mania cause I have taste. I dropped Kingdom Hearts after middle school cause I'm not into cringe childish shit, I'm into fun childish shit like Zelda. KH is pure distilled embarrassment of a story and they took so long to make KH3 that no one fricking cared anymore lol.
How has Nomura mastered the art of cute boys so god damn well?
He wishes he was one really bad
>and mashes it into a massive Disney LGBTQIA+ pride
ftfy
Its made under very unique circumstances and they get to experiment with different gameplay mechanics. They don't always work out but appreciate the experimentation. I imagine they get away with it because they know it always sells.
Don't be too sure. Kingdom Hearts 3 disappointed people and interest in the series seems rather low, see the Kingdom Hearts 4 trailer.
Yeahhh shame about the story and the setting
Everything else is amazing
KH3 mini-games are some of the worst shit you can find in a video game, they are that bad.
Game&Watch clone was kinda neat though. The problem is they force you get high score in every game just to unlock one of the best Keyblade in the game
KH2's Final world is pure Kino
KH3 Sucks ass
(P.S. Do not play PS2 KH2FM on proud mode warrior route after not playing for a decade and a bit, you're better off playing on crit mode. Always pick the damn shield for the higher difficulties. I don't know if 2.5 is the same)
Now that I think about it, I wonder if the re-releases of KH1 and 2 Over and Over being successful made SE decide to butcher FF's mainline title completely?
I'm a huge KH homosexual but the only good thing about KH is the music and the gameplay specifically KH2FM. It does blow my mind how nobody has tried to emulate kh2 gameplay though. I'm also a huge gummiship gay but nobody cares besides me and the ikaruga team.
I haven't finished any kh games after kh2 final mix. I just lost interest, I'll probably get back to it after clearing my backlog
>zoomers crying about cutscenes when you can easily skip them
I don't get it, they will never understand true hell
Because the audience for them don't exist outside of Nintendo systems.
So what is the Vergil equivalent in KH? A test of skill and knowledge about the game that's incredibly hard on high difficulties. Roxas? Xemnas?
Yozora, probably.
Zelda except it's not story heavy and almost every game is like a numbered KH entry in terms of quality. There are some games like Phantom Hourglass but even then they are arguably better than Days or CoM and at least as good as DDD
CoM (GBA) is the third or fourth best game in the franchise. Fourth or Fifth if you count modded playthroughs (BBS got a killer one recently and KH3 modded is actually fun)
What are some good Kingdom Hearts fanfictions?
I'd mostly like to read "what if" scenarios. Like, "what if" Roxas beat Riku and took on Organisation XIII. "What if" Terra got his body back from Master Xehanort at the end of BBS?
The original is like a strange fever dream. A lovely game. My favorite is the GBA sequel, Chain of Memories. You can tell there was a lot of effort put into its animations and mechanics. I'm a big fan of card games in general though.
The lore really isn't that difficult to follow if you play the games in order. It's not told in the most straightforward manner, but that's in order to add intrigue just as final fantasy games do.
combat system
Too many animations to create and stat values to consider.
100 Acre Wood is top tier comfy and one of the best worlds in every game it's in (minus CoM) and I'm tired of pretending it's not
