Why did we completely lose the soul of the late 80's to 90s?

      Is FFXIV worth playing?

        >Is FFXIV worth playing?

        >Do you like Final Fantasy as a whole?
        Yes, no question.
        >Do you enjoy long RPGs with lots of worldbuilding?
        >Are you magnetized to a game based on the quality of its soundtrack?
        Very likely.
        >Do you think Second Life dress up autism is cool but wish there was an actual game on top of it?
        >Are you an avid roleplayer who loves making his own characters?
        Go for it.
        >Do you pine for wholly player-driven economies like ArcheAge or free-form sandbox RPGs like Star Wars Galaxies?
        >Do you enjoy "hardcore" experiences, a punishing type of game that forces you to adapt or die?
        Look elsewhere.

Why did we completely lose the soul of the late 80's to 90s?

        >Why doesnt anime low contrast and grainy anymore bros!

Because technology advanced allowing us to not have anime that looks shitty and analog.

The visual difference is because modern anime tends to use less shading. 80s-90s stuff had a ton of complex shading which gives it that distinctive look.

I thought of giving it a try, but it seemed like it was a MMO built around ERP and pedos, is that not the case?

The pedo troony erp shit is some weird psyop on here. I played it for hundreds of hours and never saw any of it except people advertising that they have an ERP zone at their housing or whatever. No idea where this idea came from except people who seethe over the game, idk I guess wowgays or something. You can easily play ffxiv and never interact with a single person if you want

It's called tranime for a reason. Tranime watchers like flat and vibrant visuals because they're trannies. Simple as.

Apart from a vast majority of people who liked 90's anime, also like modern anime even if they see differences and flaws between the two eras. There's also a lot of hindsight bias for example Tenchi (and a vast majority of older anime) has a LOT of terrible animation that would be posted in "QUALITY" threads nowadays but it also has beautiful moments like OPs example. Your reduction of it into "tranime now" and the complete fabrication that the older generation of viewers just vanished is not just completely wrong, it's delusional.

Nah, he's right. Animation is generally better and animation recycling tends to be better hidden. Where I feel older anime shines is in the writing and creativity as it seemed like the industry had more money to throw around at crazy ideas back then.

MMOs were never good. You just had a lot of time when you were younger and didn't have the taste to understand that it was not good.

Wake me when we get a new AAA MMO that places equal importance on PvE and PvP and intertwines them together instead of separating them into separate areas. Also the game has to have the large large majority of content take place in the open-world, not inside instances like some kind of garbage lobby game.

Peoples attention spans are too short in 2022 and there is too much competition. It's the same reason why a new Halo game will never feel as successful as Halo 2 or 3 originally did, no matter how good they make it people will drop off and flock to game of the month or whichever is already #1.

Because MMOs are a dogshit relic of the past. In 2022 you're more likely to have social players in a blazblue lobby than you are in an MMO.

          Movie 3 - Tenchi Forever
Technically it's the ending of the "Universe" series. The OVA is a clusterfrick (starting with season 3, aka the one with Z and Tokimi as main as main antagonists, and Noike I think) at this point and he flatout married pretty much all of them.

            ah, that's right. My man!
yeah, as far as I'm concerned, Universe is canon, not the OVA. Frick the OVA. Too much shit went wrong with that production.

              Anonymous

The OVA was good up to the final episode of season 2 (episode 13.5). Then it went to shit when everything was no longer cel animation.

they were for a different time in vidya history
now that you can look up the best meta skills and classes and items and every single thing about the game and everyone is running dps meters so if you dont autistically cast the same 3-5 spells in the same order you fall below the threshold and you're kicked

also pvp in mmos was mostly always trash

I wouldn't say the best, but it honestly should be top 10. Its honestly hard to pick a best if you've played multiple MMOs during their prime.

They were novel back in the day but they never evolved, you could add raids and battlegrounds to any multiplayer game nowadays without the need of a large open world.
