I never reached the forgotten gods dlc is it good?
I quite liked the Forgotten Gods stuff. Really strong finale to the game. I would advocate for going back in to finish it.
Made a new char with the scythe of tenebris I had laying around
Veteran mode
Soilder occultist
Chaos damage pump
Will align with solael
yes
How do you not reach Forgotten Gods? All you have to do is defeat Krieg.
My autism kicks is and I always play trough the entire game and malmouth while grinding faction rep before touching forgotten gods
more like grim yawn
This it's boring
Meanwhile those are the gays who will play D2 in the eighth year of the Current Era.
recently started actually, and I don't see the appeal yet.
>even yellows have a wall of miniscule effects rather than one or two impactful ones
>classes don't seem unique, standard melee/ranged/pet archetypes
dude have some patience, geez
>have some patience
For what? I read through each of the classes skills and effects and none of them were particularly interesting sounding. Just because there's 30 more damage types doesn't mean it's cool, just a nightmare to find good gear for.
play the game instead of reading, dummie, and maybe you'll understand
you've got a point, why would I sling shit in the thread when I could sling shit in the game instead?
>mom found the dirty crapped pants
>classes don't seem unique, standard melee/ranged/pet archetypes
Yeah, no shit? moron.
>even yellows have a wall of miniscule effects rather than one or two impactful ones
Try not having an IQ of below 90, The 'wall of text' is so fricking easy to decipher, considering GD literally just has
>+damage
>damage conversion
>+attack/cast speed
>+skills
>+resistances
And occasionally
>skill modifiers which are literally greyed out if not relevant to you
>added skills which are in a completely separate section
I think you need to reread his comment
>these effects aren't interesting
>what are you talking about? It's very easy to read the text
Classes get unique when you unlock your second one.
Toxic paladin was fun af
Sounds neat. Any ideas for a pairing for a Necro that just wants to summon bone bois to roll with? I can't remember what I tried before but I don't think it felt good
Occultist for more minion support or Inquisitor for more general purpose buffs are the usual 2 choices.
Shaman. Pick briathorn, pick auras, pick shaman's skill for removing vitality resist, pick a bit of lifesteal totem.
oh frick that's brilliant
An example (unfinished with several overskills to trim).
Pets are great but you have to go all in on them. All gear must give them buffs and another summon if possible, plus you have to go necro otherwise they suck. Bit when done right they just melt everything, you will often have more pets than there are mobs on the screen.
Cheers lads. Reinstalling now. Been a min since I've played. The shaman secondary class sounds very interesting
which you unlock at level 10, within the first hour of gameplay. Even then it's not like there's any interesting crossover beyond "this class has buffs/debuffs for the damage type my core skill is using, I'll grab that"
Dual.
Blade.
Necro.
Post like these are why the majority of Gankerirgins doesn't even play games. Each classes can be configured into 2, 3 or more archetypes if you want. Shit, the Shaman class alone can be configured into a
>heavy melee build
>pet build
>caster build
>caster pseudo-pet build
>life drain build
>tank build
Just get smashngrab and start a new char, game becomes 5x more fun
I wanted to like it as i enjoyed TQ a lot but the setting fricking sucks.
Didnt like how 70% of your skillpoints are wasted on stat boosting by leveling your class in order to be allowed to spend more points the actuall skills you are supposed to use. Im just gonna buy divine divinity and beyond divinity for like 1 dolar on the next steam sale
Divine Divinity is fricking awesome until the last area, invest in poison weapon and freeze for ez mode or trap setting and charm monster for super ez mode
Just played it enough recently is why
I had a fun time playing in the Community League with this amulet and some other Storm Totem MIs though
Dammit thats a cool item. I just recently deleted a lvl 90 conjurer vitality primal strike build because I was bored with it and it kind of sucked. If I had known about this item I would just reworked it into a lightning build. Time to start a new character I guess.
I did, it was fun. But right now I don't feel like it.
Still need to go back and try out a rifle build since guns are a main draw for me.
It's going to start off slow. It's what I started as, then switched to dual pistols because I soon realized that attacks speed > base damage. See then you can start stacking random celestial bullshit This went on for a long time. He became a monster. Erased base game end boss on the first attempt. Then a shield with pistol buffs dropped. So I went pistol and shield, defense and dps both went up. I hit item cap recently, so pulled the slot machine in that dungeon in Malmouth with the smith who only makes random purple gear and after a few goes he dropped a rifle. A seriously good rifle with an increase percentage on the actual projectile speed, separate to the shooting speed. I've never seen that before. I'm now back to running around with a rifle and a second weapon switch with the pistol and shield flying across the map pumping out 4.76x attacks. On the rifle. But it will start off slow. Oh so very, very slow.
I got burned out. Now I am trying Wolcen and having a blast.
Too busy playing last epoch, just found a staff that converts meteor to lightning and I feel a new build coming
are chaos/vitality builds any good. i remember i tried to make a character with that sigil of consumption or whatever in the occultist tree and it was underwhelming. might try a poison occultist instead
The issue with Chaos dmg is that many enemies resist chaos and there isn't enough Chaos Resist reduction skill
is a poison occult/necro any good? i remember i really liked necro's poison volcano skill
last time I played, poison was pretty OP
For poison caster Occult/necro is pretty good but most people prefer Occult/Necro as summoner build. For melee poison build, Occult and Oathkeeper is better
Vitality is good. Yeah...
>chaos
>builds
The what? Unless you want to farm 7000000 aeons for all the gear. Forget that chaos or aether exist in this game as damage types for the player.
Chaos is more limited, but not as limited as you make it out to be. Most straighforwsrd build may be a Chaos gun build. Aether has tons of extremely good skills in the class trees, both for Necro and Arcanist.
Chaos also hits like a truck, and doom bolt is hilarious killing shit off the screen before they could even see you.
Three words: health on hit. You can abuse it to the point of becoming a self-regenerating murder machine.
This Witch Hunter works pretty well. But I miss old Chaos Strike.

>Game gets exponentially easier as you progress
I TRIED to like this genre man
I just can't
I kept falling asleep halfway through
Was interested in it but I bought Victor Vran instead because it has a motorhead dlc
>the only playable char is necro
did i get filtered?
Can someone tell me why this game is so praised? I bought and played it but I dont see what makes it so much better than other arpgs.
titan quest nostalgia
Its because its just an ARPG. You get skills, kill shit, get better loot, repeat.
It's that simple.
Its an incredibly pure game experience with good backstory, high enemy density, lots of different builds, and an infinite dungeon mode (as of forgotten gods).
There's no moronicness tacked on. No RMT. Its very supportive of mods (in fact modders have access to the same tools the devs did when they built the game).
The only real negative is that you have to focus too much on offensive and defensive ability. If you're not hitting like 2800+ defensive ability in end game you'll get creamed. You also have to try to massively overcap on resistances, which drains the fun from builds.
WHAT? PEOPLE THAT LIKE ARPGs LIKE THIS GAME? WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
Not at you, but this is what I hear for every gay that goes 'hurr why do you like Grim Yawn lmao'
>high enemy density
Honestly this is incredibly important and vastly underrated.
GD is one of the only recently ARPGs where your screen can literally be filled with a hundred enemies. I don't know why modern ARPGs have reverted to this incredibly slow feeling 'fight small packs of 3 or 4 at a time' shite
PoE also does that
High enemy density is fricking SHIT.
>Le kill 150 enemies in this battle! Watch as you 1hkill everything! You are a GOD
is for virgins, Chads play Diablo 1
>Deckard Cain I'm trying to stab this succubus but the clap of her dummy thick buttcheeks keeps destroying my sanity!
Sounds like you haven't tried high tier maps in PoE, most of them have a "+X% increased enemies quantities". You'd be walking around like "oh there is a pixel of clickable ground in this ocean of mobs"
no drm
good build variety
good aesthetics for those who like lovecraftian stuff
plenty of opportunity to kill entire screens of monsters nonstop if you wanted to
still lets you go hyper-autistic with builds
doesn't have many bullshit 1-frame insta kills or overtuned content like poe
>offline
>lots of content
>lots of classes
>can mix and match two classes
>god-tier itemization, basically the complete opposite of Diablo 4
>not buggy
>actually a complete and finished product
Overall it's just a very good ARPG.
It's slow, boring and grindy like all ARPG's
Grim dawn is especially, I always barely complete first chapter and then lose all interest
Imagine going into a thread about something you don't like and contributing absolutely nothing with your whiny post
I bet you're still scrolling through and reading everything too despite hating this game.
Get a fricking life homosexual
OP asked why people aren't playing grim dawn, I answered
>plus, you can pause
I'm not a 36 year old manchild with wife who treats me like a doormat and a child who commands me like a slave, so I don't care about this.
You're just a 36 year old manchild with no obligations or life outside of gaming so you can count on zero interruptions.
No, I'm just a sub-30 schmuck and I can still play 4+ hours of shit uninterrupted after work because I'm not a homosexual who gets bossed around while doing something else. Just because your life is chaos, doesn't mean it's not your fault.
Stop projecting you fricking moron. I literally have 2 thousand hours in the game and regularly play multiple hours uninterrupted, if I wish. The ability to pause isn't tied into whatever weird mental fricking hangups your moronic zoomer ass has.
It would be nice to be able to answer the door or phone when the occasion rises without dying in game.
This is why I imagine you have a completely melancholic and uninteresting life, because you are literally incapable of thinking of a scenario in which the ability to pause a game might be useful for you.
So you ignore your brain when it tells you that you have to piss or shit? Damn, you sure showed us!
I've played a fair amount
I would play it if the maps were randomized
arpg's are among the worst genre's out there, and I never want to play one again. Belongs in the trash with interactive story games, hack'n'slash, and jrpgs.
lost a level 99 hardcore character and my will went along with it.
>hardcore
I'm sorry but its your own fault for being so moronic as to play this literal meme format.
Softcore has no stakes. It's too boring.
If I was lower level, I'd be fine. If I was 100 I'd be fine.
Being 99 and losing it killed my spirit.
homie getting 100 in grim dawn is not difficult this isn't poe
Please post your level 100 Hardcore character then, at least.
oh, i dont play hardcore
but if you have a 99 you could literally just grind easy mobs on elite for an hour or two and it's 100
>oh, i dont play hardcore
then why are you bothering me?
you are bothering everyone with your whiny posts
i don't recall whining but you do you, frogposter.
oh, I will
hardcore players are the vegans of ARPGs
What the frick are you talking about?
HC players are obnoxious moronic cultists, that try to spread their "religion" by telling everyone, that they are hardcore players and that they are okay despite not having a good time.
>tell a story about hc
>guys shits on me
>i'm a cultist apparently
i don't give a frick how you want to play the game but when someone comes at me and says "what you're doing is easy" and then says that they don't fricking do it i think i'm within my rights to tell that motherfricker to frick off.
and you can too.
vegan
>won't eat le meat etc
>why am I sick :~~*( it's not fair
hc
>play le meme mode
>why is my character dead :~~*( it's not fair
I didn't say anything about it not being fair. You're just making things up.
Its a videogame you fricking mongoloid.
People who play hardcore must have some form of mental illness.
>Its a videogame you fricking mongoloid.
Yeah? And?
>People who play hardcore must have some form of mental illness.
What the frick?
finished the main campaign, it was boring as frick. cba dealing with dlcs.
I've been playing it and just started ultimate difficulty.
what build has the least amount of shit flashing on the screen? and if shit is flashing on the screen optimally it's just a simple gradient the color of white
Probably a forcewave build, you just go unga bunga and only see the shock wave sending enemies flying.
Played the campaign and the first dlc.
It was fun but I'm not autistic enough for the endgame slog
To be fair the end of the first DLC is the proper end of the game. You can breeze through Forgotten Gods, outside of the procedural dungeons, in a few hours. It's more of a courtesy to explain the existence of a big magic macguffin infinity gate to grind some gameplay after you've done everything a dozen times.
when is someone porting diablo 4 assets into grimdawn?
>why aren't you playing grim dawn?
Who says I'm not? I mean I wish there was another modern aRPG like this, but there just isn't.
tryed some rifle/pistol build and im bored at level 25
trieing to maybe watch a podcast wgile you play/
As much as I like GD (have like 500 hours in it from co-oping with a friend), if you need something outside of the game to make it complete/fun/bearable then you shouldn't be playing it.
If you make a hotdog and you need mustard then the hotdog is shit plain and simply.
Exactly
I use ketchup instead.
My graphics card fan is in the process of dying and the GPU overheats easily, otherwise I would be playing. Hardcore runs of Grim Dawn are exceptionally fun.
The build opportunities are good. The text story that you can ignore is actually quite good and setting appropriate.
But the combat is very dull, lots of variations of swing at thing and X amount of passives will proc off of it. And the world itself is quite grim and dreary, Diablo 2 was grim but exciting because it was fantastical, gd is a lot more grounded and mundane.
Playing d4 I don't think I can go back to poor poorer combat arpgs. No meme
pretty fricking boring honestly, even D3 was better
> So like.... they're like shields, but are actually maces!
Really makes you think.
People love the idea of 2 shield builds. If you don't like it, transmute them off. I personally think it's great.
All great games. You really can't go wrong with any of them. Throw in some more obscure titles too like Dark Stone, Sacred, and Victor Vran.
Not at all. I had them sitting around as shields for ages until I realized what they actually were. I think it's funny. Genius really.
>its that time of the month when the grim dawn devs make their shill thread
move on everyone. go play poe or d2/3
Have a good video of endgame? I've tried grimdawn a couple times and could never get past act 2 it was just so boring.
The problem is grimdawn has a dozen classes but none of them are fun, Diablo 2 only had 5 classes but all of them were fun.
Explain to me how this game is better than Diablo 3.
Or what?
Or I wont play.
I thought about playing PoE but I found out it was the same high octane spamfest as D3 and didnt.
Basically every d2-derivative in existence towers somewhere in stratosphere above d3 and d4, because correct character building and itemization choices matter in them. In Blizzard games, they effectively just exist there as a buttons to press that have no impact on gameplay experience you will be getting, because psychologists designing the game heard that some autists may like it, so they added few menus that will act like fidget spinners for them.
Nah. If the arpg doesn't have rifts then it's shit. That means Diablo 3 and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands are this genre's GOATs. Cope.
>Nah. If the arpg doesn't have rifts then it's shit.
You do realize GD is centered around rifts mechanically and lore-wise?
Correct character building and itemization matters more in cRPGs than ARPGS so I am better off just playing WotR again than playing another D3-like.
Does the game have some sort of mod that makes it better?
I really liked vanilla GD when I first played it but I hadn't played PoE yet.
When I tried it again, it just felt somewhat slow, clunky and restrictive.
theres this, it's the second most popular on nexusmods but i never tried it https://www.nexusmods.com/grimdawn/mods/45
>2H
>Nightblade
can't play anything else
this shit is cool although I don't know if it's that great
>those stats
Unbelievably based. Most 2H builds get buffed heavily by Kraken devotion. Worst case just dual-class into Shaman. Done and done.
There's no way this is better than morgo set + soulrend shadow strike.
Too busy playing victor vran
I played a Deceiver up until level 90 or so
My damage was holding up but I was dying to a stiff breeze and didn't know where to get better gear so my interest waned
> Respec into sigil of consumption.
> Start wearing drain type gear, even if on paper worse than you have.
> Stack health drain.
> Become regenerating murder bot.
I was already specced into Sigil, problem was everything seemed to do burst damage
How are your resistances? Try using Grim Internals to see where most of the damage is coming from and crafts some protection against that.
There's also damage absorbing devotions.
the build/class variety is unironically smaller than in d2, yes you have 50 class names but most of the time what changes is supporting skills while main stay the same.
What gets me is that the modding tools are super powerful (in that they're literally the tools used to design the game in the first place), but Grim Dawn's popularity has always remained so middling that there's no actually good mods for it.
Custom classes are usually very poorly tuned with a poor understanding of whats actually fun and/or viable beyond low levels (they may work for act 1 then immediately become shit, as an example). And they're also dead in the water without any MI/Legendary set support.
I think that the guides for GD modding are so poor and esoteric that it puts a lot of people off. I can't even fricking figure out how to create a new class, from the guides i've been able to find.
I would really like to have seen mods that add item drops; different item modifiers, new monster infrequents, more conversion options for skills, etc. etc.
If you prefer new masteries with item support, then check Diablo 3 Classes mod. If you want to have more options for vanilla classes, then check Community League mod.
>the build/class variety is unironically smaller than in d2
No it isn't
For me, it's Anasteria
If that middle one's meant to be Korinia then her eyes should be glowing green
Do we even get to see her face?
Anasteria lewds seem to be the only source but no fricking clue where it's coming from.
>implying I'm not playing it
We need more fricking games like Grim Dawn. Just a solid ARPG made by a passionate team with a small budget, and most of all, SINGLEPLAYER. Why does it feel like the genre is being turned into some weird pseudo MMO bullshit? Or even just forcing always online gameplay when it is irrelevant and adds nothing? Path of Exile, D4, Last Epoch, 40k: Inquisitor... Diablo-like games are apparently now online only. At least MMO koreashit like Lost Ark and Undecember are technically fully fledged multiplayer games(?), so they have an excuse of a sort.
I don't understand why this is happening to this genre specifically. Was it really just Diablo 3 starting this shit, and for some reason everyone else followed suit?
Online only is it's own drm protection. It's pretty based too, I love the seething.
Last Epoch guys have promised to add offline singleplayer with 1.0 update. Not that this once good guys now turned homosexuals hadn't ruined my bone golem turning it into fricking gorillla, ruined all npc's by adding ugly as hell portraits, ruined my fun from lots-o-skellies build by reducing the sound of bone rattling etc.
But yeah, adding online only while removing LAN was diablo 3 feature.
Last Epoch has literally never been good, though, and likely never will be now.
Last Epoch has been good for since I played it
i was excited for last epoch more than d4 but these fricking devs are so slow and the fact that tencent has a stake in their company and they will focus on mtx has me worried.
Anon, this is what PoE used to look like. Just give them time.
>in this game you're not a like a god, pissing on all the mobs
top kek
whoops, forgot link like a tard
I played the game to about level 60 and it was kinda mid tbh
Because I've played a whole fricking lot of it already, and while I definitely got what I pitched into the Kickstarter for, namely an ARPG in the classic style free of extraneous shekelgrabbing shenanigans, that same classic style also comes with some fundamental flaws that I really hope a hypothetical GD2 would move beyond, taking inspiration from evolutions like Dark Souls, Nioh and even Exanima.
Already played Grim Dawn
Im playing inquisitor Martyr now, and having more fun than I thought I would.
It was hard to initialy get into it, and its still buggy, but actually like it more than D4.
I found I:M pretty horrible to play until I plugged in my DS4.
Yeah there's definitely something off about the controls.
I'm just a wee busy with other games. got quite the backlog. Planning to play a soldier+necromancer with a two-handed sword, hope that's a good idea.
Death Knight is pretty neat, just be sure to rush for the Kraken starsign in the devotions page if you're running two-handers.
It's literally like 300% damage plus a frickton of +attack speed for even moar damaeg.
Is Death Knight with some skeleton buddies viable? I recall reading that minions builds in Grim Dawn are good if you go all out on minions but underwhelming if you try to do hybrid.
Minions are all in or bust, yeah.
My minionmancer is a necro/occult, necro for the skeleton horde and occult for the curses and blood plague stuff to back them up.
They clear screens in seconds, but my own dude is really fragile because hius gear is all in on minion bonuses at the expense of resistances.
>Brain goes off and mouse goes clickclickclickclick
>Unbelievably easy and repetitive, the different quests, areas and enemies made no difference as everything was solved by moving forward and one shotting everyone
>RPG elements stopped mattering after the first couple of hours, after that a level up meant improving the skills already chosen
>Items went from "Club" to "Superior Scrapmetal Blunderbuss of Thunder" in about 2 hours which made finding new gear way less exciting than it could've been
More like Grim Yawn. Though it's a shitty genre altogether
too much useless loot. I will only play an arpg if the loot is sparse and good
You only play arpgs like this?
Name 5 games.
Can't. They don't exist.
Most ARPGs nowadays have a built-in loot filter as a bandaid solution
it's still finding shit that is 2% better every 5 seconds. I can't be asked to do that for entertainment purposes. It's like someone shows me a huge pile of shit and thinks I will want to sort that out for hours, just to have a chance to find something good and useful. I rather play other games.
Gauntlet
Legend of Zelda
Dark Souls
Faxanadu
Dungeons and dragons Shadows of Mystara
I've been thinking of doing a Commando playthrough.
Are there any other worthwhile sci-fi ARPGs than Inquisitor Martyr?
Already had my fill of it.
>4555,5h
What's the difference between 40K Prophecy and Martyr? The game dumped two icons on my desktop.
Prophecy is a special campaign for the cogboy that joins onto Martyr's plot afterwards.
Cool, thanks.
you can buy prophecy and then use creamapi to unlock the full game + all DLC
I actually started the Diablo 2 mod last night. I've never played D2 and the remaster crashes at launch with the pirated copies I found.
how much slower is leveling only playing crucible ?
I liked the game, but having to go through every difficulty multiple times for each character just to get to the good stuff was an insane slog.
you can buy things from faction vendors to bypass that
Cool, didn't know that. Maybe I'll do another playthrough during my vacation.
Once you finish it you can buy orbs that skip that so you can start ult.
Post yfw when
>there's actually no bad guy in Grim Dyawn
Except for the Wendigo I guess
he just a lil hungry
There are plenty of bad guys and there are deitic 'bad guys' that certainly want you dead, directly or indirectly.
Sure they want me dead but are they really wrong? Take Korvaak for example
>was right about the 3 witch god
>was right about being betrayed
>was right in that humanity needed help in defeating Cthon and other space israelites
Well, he's an egregrious case considering you were trepassing into his domain. I was thinking more like Ch'thon, Yugol, Ravager kind of, etc.
Cthon just doesn't want his children to receive his HIV blood man, and would really like it back into his body. Yugol is just darkness I guess, he's part of the whole cosmic shit and we don't know much about him while Ravager....yeah I guess you could consider him to be the only objectively evil thing in GD.
I didn't want to go down a list of gods and godlike deities for all their motivation. Plenty of demigods who aren't the biggest fans of human.
Yes. Empyrion was the greatest of gods but is now missing. Korvaak was pretending to be Empyrion when he talked to Kymon.
Don't forget Mogdrogen who sat back like a cuckold while every other god ripped up the world, including his followers.
And now he is the only god, who have willing non-deceived followers throughout the entire world.
Are u kidding me? He literally mogged all the other demigods by having actual faithful followers who followed him and his prophecy till the end.
Heck, the rovers are surprisingly a highly resilient bunch
Mog isn't even a real god, he was created.
>Korvaal
Cosplayed his Sun-brother without license, used humans as a faith batteries, punished mages for trying to learn the truth (which led exactly to punished scholar, loose priestess and homosexual less educated mage to overthrow him), generally power-hungry.
Wait, is Korvaak and Empyrion 2 different entity? I thought they were the same thing
Yes. Empyrion had either turned into the part of the world or had fricked off somewhere, there are even words of Korvaak himself telling a bit about that either on some note or during bossfight.
>punished mages for trying to learn the truth (which led exactly to punished scholar, loose priestess and homosexual less educated mage to overthrow him)
Wait, when did this happened? Are u talking about Uroburuuk's simps?
He's talking about the Three.
Damn, didn't realize that. I thought Dreeg was a twink slave, not a mage or a scholar.
If anyone was a twink slave, it was Solael. Bysmiel only kept him around for his BDSM fetish.
Anon. The witch gods. Some mage had decided to look into the eldritch realm, Korvaak was all "Kyaa! Don't look, baka!" and cursed this mage with the vision. Mage was not amused, went to some priestess and younger mage, they made The Pln to frick over Ulzuin and, through him, his master Korvaak.
And when Korvaal had started to break free, they had assumed their human forms again under the guise of cult leaders, and invited you to deal with Korvaak for them, after which they had reinstated themselves back.
I'm certain it was never stated that Korvaak was specifically the one to 'curse' Dreeg.
https://grimdawn.fandom.com/wiki/Witch_Gods
Playing through the The Hidden Path questline when it was first being implemented was a good time.
At least Ruminations of the Primordial One:
>My loyal Ulzuin watches over me now along with the many-eyed fiend I've bound to his fate.
And in random places about mage, who gazed into the eldritch realm and had received eyes.
Come on, anon, BYScilla, DRaellus and Sagon ARE BYSmiel, DReeg and Solael respectively. You can see their human forms, Solael is fricking buffed bold dude from brazzers directly.
And https://grimdawn.fandom.com/wiki/The_Hidden_Path_-_Dreeg just says he was struck, while https://grimdawn.fandom.com/wiki/Eye_of_the_Guardian mentions that it was multiple gods. Meh.
>no bad guy in Grim Dawn
What the frick do you mean? Do the literal cosmic disease known as the Aetherials not count? You know, the energy forms that believe its their right to control everything and everyone, just for the sake of control? They're basically space israelites and it doesnt get any worse than that.
umm the aetherials are just poor lil autists created by wizards or the gods (I forget), they just want to share their autism with you
I always found it amusing how the aetherial controlling the Warden found Warden's sadism and greed so appealing it started to emulate it, which caused other aetherials go "what the frick man, you were supposed to torturously experiment on people and run a test subject trafficking operation rationally and professionally".
They're a bit more nuanced than that. They were servants of the primordial gods until that civil war which fricked the gods up and the Aetherials were stripped of their physical forms, and cast into the Aether until they found Cairn/humans. They're just trying to get back into flesh forms, albiet at the destruction of Cairn. They also really hate Ch'thon and fight its minions at any chance.
>so appealing it started to emulate it
Other way around actually. Sometimes a human's desires/feelings are too strong for an Aetherial to control.
What about Darius Cronley?
I've put Grim Dawn on hold until I finish Titan Quest on Legendary because I was stupid enough to buy Eternal Embers and I want to experience it at least.
Getting 1 level per act is really numbing
Can you recommend me some class that goes fast? Something with high move speed and multiple active abilities, like an Assassin. Also ok if ranged.
The fastest is templar or warlord with cooldown reduction items on vire's might, which can also be a decent damage skil. You still go pretty fast even without the good items and it levels easily. Apart from that oathbreaker, soldier and nightblade have some kind of movement skill
Nightblade or Oathkeeper
Nightblade is literally the
>*teleports behind you*
Class with fricking AoE
While Oathkeeper can
>*skate*

Fine, be a twerking Dervish for all I care.
Solider + Inquisitor bros ww@?
>converting Storm Box of Elgoloth to deal physical damage and reduce phys res
It doesn't get as orgasmic as this
It's a game where you do nothing but hold down one button facetanking everything for 60 hours, while also not even needing to farm gear since you just get everything from vendors.
Last time I played I got bored as hell by the time I finished act 1.
Objectively sub-par game saved by good writing/art direction.
Objectively shit post by a newbie.
Why can't we just follow Targo and go
>full smithing
all day everyday?
I wish there was ARPG with full crafting autism
>try grim dawn
>my class combination has literally ONE viable build with ONE viable weapon you dont get until the DLC
I actually played a frickton of it, but never tried out any mods.
Are there any with many fun new abilities/areas/classes and such?
Give me a moron proof build that doesn't need too many specific items
warder with the lightining damage type?
Melee retaliation build. Just stand still and everyone near you die
Didn't they consistently nerf that and even then made it possible only to high level builds with ultimate gear?
A dual wield pistol Purifier. (Inquisitor/Demo)
More like Grim Yawn
I picked up the game a year ago and found it to be extremely boring and repetitive. In the first map, I mostly stuck to the right side quests, killing everything and looting it all. I faced several bosses and mainly did side quest, with a couple of main ones.
My experience remained the same, from start to finish, with a couple of spikes here and there. I don't recall the class name, but it was the one where you shot poison orbs. All I did was stick in mid-range and click 1, with maybe occasionally debuffing bosses. I expect melee classes to be just as the same, but slightly frustrated due to swarms
>inb4 fun with friends
I can play a game, where I throw rocks at my friends, and it still wouldn't be fun
I like the level of build diversity. I don't like the amount of skills that are hard to understand without researching. I also don't love the map and dislike that it is static. I'm not into the texty quests either.
I beat the base game and did not want to play the expansions because of how little I liked playing the entirety of the base game. The combat was garbage. No amount of building really changes that.
I'm playing it right now. Occultist/Arcanist elemental pet build.
Frick whoever thought making OFF not do damage if it doesn't freeze was a good idea.

Probably Zantai.
My friends aren't autistic enough to play to 100 and make meme builds.
>"you can even play D2"
Well it crashes on the ancients fight for me, but it was fun while it lasted.
Commando (Soldier + Demolitionist) is a very fun class combo from all ranges. Shooting everything that moves and smashing anything that gets too close.
