its neat but a bit on the easy side. pretty hard to miss anything, everything is hidden very obviously and most of the time you can reach shit right away as well. never had to intentionally backtrack so far, going whatever way the game tries to make you go lets you pick up previously inaccessible items with no effort.
so far i like it less than RutM.
also, the dev put the story on a little too thick. constantly dropping names of characters 99% of players will not know because no one played the games prior to RutM. big walls of text and the translation is a bit shitty, or maybe the original writing was already shit, but its nothing really special.
>no one played the games prior to RutM
I've played all the games, but I also played them so long ago that I don't remember jack shit about them, let alone their stories
i played them as well but for all i know they didnt contain any story. sure, maybe you had some named characters here and there but i dont remember those games having a concise plot or anything.
i bought it but it feels pretty shit compared to momodora 4. The vibe is COMPLETELY different and there are so many fricking npcs to talk to. I just want to play the game, not read your fricking narrative. RUTM was so good with showing not telling, why ruin it with this shit? Minoria sucked wiener too, i think that the dev has truly lost his way
how do you think it pulls from momodora 3? momodora 3 is extremely simple, there are no npcs, and it's stage based.. Makes sense given it was one of his earlier games, but how in the frick do you think this game is like 3?
>there are no npcs
You didn't play the game

Black person are you really going to die on this hill? It's a 30 minute long game

Yeah, since you didn't play the game I'm not gonna bother. Let's just leave it at that

minimal npcs compared in a hub in momodora 5... yeah dude it's the exact same lmfao. joking aside, what do you think he pulled from momodora 3? other than the pulled out camera I genuinely don't see any crossover

The game feels more "linear" than Rutm. And the way the rooms are designed are more "platformey" too. It's more akin to 3 design than Rutm

fair enough, I haven't played enough of the new one to opine on the level design. I really loved rutm so i hope that it grows on me

>I really loved rutm
Oh same. That game became one of my favorites games of all time.
And of course the thing about the level design it's just my opinion.
It's just that the series grew on me so I really feel most people are being too harsh with moonlit. Game is fine

for me it's because it is competing with Tevi which just came out recently, which is fairly flawless other than the fact that it isn't as good as rabi-ribi. I think I would have enjoyed moonlight much more if it came out four months ago

>Tevi
I played the demo, It was fun. but it suffers the same fate of Moonlit. Being compared with the previous game. Rabi-Ribi was a gem on its own. Another personal favorite >fairly flawless
Damn, makes me wanna play it even more.
You're cool anon

Yeah, they are fun. If you're interested in the lore play I, II, III and then Reverie under the moonlight. Moonlit Farewell references all the other games.
If you're not then just play Reverie under the moonlight and then this one.
Or if you want just play this one.
I am, just finished Meikan Village and unlocked the option to teleport to the big bad.
My map seems complete except for the hidden hole west of Koho village that has the "come back later" sign", but I'm still missing some items and Melliot doesn't show up anywhere. The game implies that I will teleport to a fight, so I am not sure if this will be the end of the game or another new area..
I tried Reverie Under the Moonlight, but honestly the controls and the movement feel like shit. I really wanted to like this game, but I couldn't get into it, no matter how many times I tried.
no crt shader
no crt filter
raw pixels
>no crt shader
>no crt filter
>raw pixels
GOOD
It's a game made for modern displays, it'll look worse with crt shaders
Good, intentionally making your game look like shit so it apes the "retro" style was one of the worst aspects of the 2010s
you can't tell if that's a portrait or the actual size of the person in-game
It's a giantess god looks like. Dev fetish.
what does she eat
Human men.
They survive the process, though.
Physically, at least.
Wanted to post this.
hopefully me
Are you an idiot? Of course that's a giantess. I don't even know wtf this game is and I could tell immediately.
Because you keep shilling it with the exact same image. That's literally the only reason.

As a loregay I'm enjoying it so much. But yeah, I get the complains about namedropping characters

Because it's fricking shit just like every monkeydora game.
But I am.
I think I'm almost done with my first playthrough.
Going through Meikan right now.
This got me.
Titty game with jumping and mid combat. No i will never play this.

Because it came back to its roots. This feels like the perfect mix between Rutm and 3
it really doesn't, because it's shit
(You)
Yes, you need the wall jump ability
Gay. worst thing about some metroidvanias is forced backtracking in an otherwise cleared out area.
I agree

>dev is to unskilled and lazy so uses pixel art
momodora is mediocre
waiting for gog
didn't know this was a thing. thanks for letting me know.
>Why aren't you playing the new Momodora game?
because i never played the others, are they any good?
Yeah, they are fun. If you're interested in the lore play I, II, III and then Reverie under the moonlight. Moonlit Farewell references all the other games.
If you're not then just play Reverie under the moonlight and then this one.
Or if you want just play this one.
Reverie is the only one worth playing and it's miles better than this game.
I can't unsee her lazy eye
Do I have to come back later for this? I have double jump
Unironically, the game would look 100% better if it wasn't so pixelized. Pixel artstyle is shit. And take it from a 33yo boomer.
breasts too big
Skin too white
BIG breasts SMALL TITIES
FLATTIES
I LOVE EM ALL
Flat is best though to be clear
More like Mommydora
Looks garbage. No thanks marketer.
Not on GOG yet
After Minoria I have zero confidence in rdeins ability to make a good game.
reverie really is shaping up to be a flash in a bottle for him. complete one hit wonder.
I finished Minoria and didn’t think it was that bad
I am. I am trying to get that moon powder shit now.
I'm waiting for the controller I ordered to arrive
I am, just finished Meikan Village and unlocked the option to teleport to the big bad.

I've never tried jumping towards her, I wonder what would happen..
can't reach the queen. it's a shame.
SWITCH PORT WHEN?
here
It looks like it's omnipandering, with the technicolor girls and all.
I tried Reverie Under the Moonlight, but honestly the controls and the movement feel like shit. I really wanted to like this game, but I couldn't get into it, no matter how many times I tried.
i'm missing one more companion
do i get it after beating all bosses again on nightmare?
Did you get the badly drawn companion for going back to the harpy boss arena?
I was missing that one because it's not labeled on the map.
well, good to know
checking later
excuse me
you can enter after the final boss
Isn't only Dora the character from 1-3 who relates
to the story?
does the fast travel cat only let you go to bells you actually prayed at before?
Does it have cute imp girls like in the first game?
fairies, mandragoras, demons etc.
