>It has its charms
Only for people upset they're getting old and desperate to return to their youth. For sane people it just looks like horribly dated trash.
Then why do zoomers go fricking crazy for fnaf and ratboy genius?
not because of the graphics, moron.
wrong
no, Im right.
because they get horny despite the visuals, the same way there is porn of the simpsons or helga from hey arnold.
also this. their minds revolve around something until it eventually drifts into sex, as it always does, and then their subconscious changes their perception to make them frickable.
If zoomers didn't care about FNAF graphics why do so many of them fap to the animatronics?
>why do so many of them fap to the animatronics?
Off-model fanart
Hmmm it's as almost games were made to be fun and enjoyable back then...
since when did zoomers care or even know about rbg? did someone make a video essay about him or something?
Zoomer here. We came for the Potato Knishes, stayed for the pure sovl storytelling and god-tier music.
>hating on ratboy genius
how dare you.
Blud thinks he’s certified by the Little King John’s Board of Ratboy Genius Haters.
flargy come back
I don’t think he’s coming back.
What do you mean by dated? Good design is timeless. I thought we got over all this realistic = better moronic shit.
But realistic graphics is better than your shitty toons for kids
I don't know, man. Seems like it was easy to make much more fun games when you didn't exclusively have to worry about having the most high-end graphics possible. It's one of the reasons retro shooters have started to become so popular.
>t. coping zoomoid
Coping with what? Coping is trying to replicate something from your youth
There's no such thing as "the sharty", and you need to take your meds now.
dont threaten me with a good time!
gonna cry?
HWABAG
I dunno.
Goddamn homie shiet, so much SOVL
They're big ...
My philosophy can be summed up as the following: “Go big or go home.”
there are many steam greenlight shovelware games from 2014-2015 like that
You've almost got it right (and the texture stretching shows you're at least subconsciously aware of how it should look), but the height maps look modern. You want the textures to be projection mapped along the Z axis, no UV mapping.
Good to know. Will rectify this problem as soon as possible.
You need ray tracing, high poly, bad texturing and bad rigging. You think it would be nice but it would be laugh at and amateurishly looking
You might like Scott Cawthon's games
Is not the same as shitty "retro" pixel art. You gotta know how to make 3D art AND to make it look retro. In the end is too much work for a niche thing.
AAA studios need to push the boundaries not play with old tech, that's something the community should do.
Studious should push the boundaries of old tech.
The old CGI you see in movies was made with completely different technology called NURBS rather than the now common polygons
lol this is the dumbest shit I've read all day. on Ganker.
in the dumbest thread.

>old 2000s 3D graphics in games anymore? It has its charms
early 3D looked like shit the entire time it was a thing and it was fricking obnoxious having it replace practical effects and traditional animation when they were in their prime.
And now we have “shitty Pixar” replacing that
unironically, I hate these new "photorealistic" graphics.
Bloom, raytracing and Anti-Aliasing make games feel fake and plastic.
Ultra realistic humans look gross.
It bloats up the filesize to 100 GB +, eats up a lot of unnessesary energy and unpleasantly heats up the computer.
It also looks soulless and creatively bankrupt.
Go back to 2010 graphics.
>2000s
This is when making a 3D model starts to take some kind of skill. It's not all that hard to make a PS1 model (especially if you ignore the poly count limit like indie devs all do) but going to PS2 is a jump. You're looking at a model that's anyway from 3K to 5K.
Then you need to know how to make a game too. It's very rare that someone has all those skills. You'd probably see it happen more if people were willing to collab but everyone is a social invalid now, myself included.
I actually really liked the first Lawnmower Man. Second one sucked fricking balls though.
charms are meaningless, only actual benefits count.
"charms" are nostalgic memories without remembering any mechanical advantage.
did no one actually watch/know that that pic is from the "lawnmover man" movie?

>Why can’t developers replicate old 2000s 3D graphics in games anymore?
I don't really care for the silicon CGI stuff. I'm more into seeing developers trying to replicate how games actually looked during the early 2000s. This stuff doesn't really age well unless you want to make some kind of surrealist game or something.
because they used shitty software and were limited by hardware. if you want to imitate something like that you have to use what they used.
Us old frickers have the ability to cross back and forth between modern or shitty old 3d graphics. The best of both worlds. Zoomers will always be limited to a specific time in games and experience no innovation or magic except requiring expensive rigs to see realistic reflections in games they'll only benchmark and never play.

Is no one going to post it?
No one at all?

I think in most cases it looks bad. I really like the way ATLUS games from that era look THOUGH. I guess it ultimately depends on the talent of the artists.
basedĵak steam gimmick game when
It's gotta be a collectathon.
With a cheevo that requires an actual code from the dev acquirable only on the sharty.
The hardest 100% in gaming.

newbie here, why do some of my posts on the 'booru get added on the post list and then removed again? is it the jannies being weird?
