I never understood why people care about mons having features that look like facial hair, in game weve alwayd had mon who share physical similarities with humans like jynx and mr mime and their traits are never really judged or brought up as bad as pokemon having beards, and in the real world there are some aninals with hair similar to facial hair, various apes, goats, rodents and cats, etc, so i dont see why some mon cant have one either

With paradox mon, you could argue that they are meant to look strange / unnatural. I generally agree that the style of the series has suffered since the departure of aping Toriyama (starting around Gen 3), but it doesn’t apply as much to designs that have a lore justification for looking different.

For the same reason they launched leeching off toriyama instead of leeching off Tezuka for the 90's kids. Kids of current era rarely give a frick for 30 year old media and the design tropes they pushed. That's why everything gets a restyle, remake or reimagining if brought back to the modern.
