Rotate your team if they're getting too overleveled. You can run away from non-story trainer battles now so if you're overleveled it's completely your fault.
Not a defense for EXP Share btw I hate it too but if you can't work around bad game design we call that a skill issue.

This shit is so fricking cancer, that it ruins the game for me. I always make sure to rotate team, and switch out the entire party with a shitmon when making a sandwhich.
It's such a fricking hassle to constantly switch teams that it defeats the purpose of the EXP Share being a quality of life change.

This. EXP Share affecting the entire party is good. Optional EXP Share is also good. Having the game balanced around that whether it's raising enemy levels or level restrictions that the game or you can set yourself is better.
