Thats more like the rpg maker crowd. They like to spin yarn about peoples relationships and regularly fabricate "new" identities.
They briefly named the schizo coyotecraft, but I think they backed off when they realized just how much that narrows them down.

Because the West is broken. The people abandoned God and their lives shattered. Most people come from broken homes and don't know what a marriage should look like. Hence why our media depicts shit such as dating culture or degenerate fetishes or sex eithout children when the point of sex is to raise children. Japan is breaking down too but there were for more people who saw beauty and want to preserve it and that is reflected in the media they made.

They just have some magic pixie hormone dust blown in their face; and the next thing you know they're humping a bear.
Because WPRGs are obsessed over player choice which in turn reduces romance to sideshow themepark attractions. The only good WRPG romances are those that are easy to frick up and demand from the player to curb their own freedom on certain choices in order to achieve the romance.

This. WRPGs tend to dilute the relationship down as a multiple choice event with the goal being a 'sex' scene and not a lot else. Kinda hard to have a meaningful relationship when the intent is shallow.
There's romance but no logic. Why would they have built Adel's tomb in a way that it could be unsealed or opened if Esthar was so worried about her coming back? They go through all the effort to make a state of the art casket, launch it into space and even build a central space station to monitor it, but they put locks on the tomb that can be opened.

ff8 has the best vidya romance of all time. only a handfull of jrpgs even come close.

I kinda miss the sex card mechanics from Witcher 1. Witcher 2 felt like a terribly written porn movie
