Be on the lookout in the next couple of years for when they inevitably release the definitive edition. Will still be the same mechanics but it might be more appealing to you if they iron everything out and add what they need to add. did you clear out the entire act 2? I have about the same playtime after doing that, just because I felt i wasn't ready for big bone man at the end. Was level 9 after clearing the entire colony.
I restarted multiple times, my current act 3 save has ~30 hours of playtime, and I did clear out act 1 and 2 on it. Include reloading paths which I realized were wrong and we can say 35 hours or so to clear out both acts. I'm lv9, halfway or more to 10.
