It's a passion project funded out of CEOs own pocket that had 3 years of early access community feedback.
The exclusivity does them no favors for sure. I don't know what kind of deal they're cutting with Sony, but I just wait for PC, and then also I wait for a sale because it's already an old game that everyone spoiled for me and doesn't feel new. I would pay $70 day fricking one for FF7 Rebirth on PC but it feels like I'm paying premium for a used car by that time.

FF16, Square Enix has a stupid idea of constantly attempting to re-invent the wheel with every single iteration of FF, resulting in them always making something that is going to disappoint different groups of FF fans every single time, and they tried to shove too much action game in an RPG framework while removing most of the RPG, which makes it unsatisfying for both
