Does anyone else feel like the game is losing traction very quickly? As it is we can barely keep a thread alive (the other thread is on page 10 right now, after another one being just freshly archived at ~100 posts).
I think the moment eldtree dlc was announced everyone just forgot about DD2. To be honest most people were already reluctant ever since a long time ago because they have been waiting capcom to announce the other 8 vocations for a long time, yet we're getting closer and closer to release date and it's starting to feel like 10 is really all we're gonna get. But surely they can't release the game without advanced thief and archer, that'd be moronic right?

On the topic of seemingly low interest for DD2 on Ganker, back when it was confirmed, the catalog was chock full of DD2 threads. I think the lack of any new info on the game, the shitposting being exhausted and just generally having other things to do is creating a fake sense of low interest.

i know aquatard is shitposting but there's just really not much to discuss right now that hasn't already been covered.
The 3 min ER trailer for a dlc showed more "new" then nearly everything capcom have put out for DD2 combined. Thats not discord, it's not shitposting, it's just a statement of reality. All those new characters and the confirmation of 8 new weapon categories is driving a lot of discussion and speculation in a good way, meanwhile Capcom are keeping "new" VERY close to their chest, so we don't have much to discuss right now. I really don't think they've done a good job marketing DD2 so far.
So yeah until capcom actually show new stuff there's going be a natural lul in thread activity.

They've objectively done a terrible job. Comparing the DD2 trailers to the new ER trailer in particular showcased to me how poorly modern Capcom is at showcasing their new games. Capcom used to be way better at trailers not even that long ago. RE7, MHW, RE2remake and RE8 all had fantastic reveal trailers that garnered a lot of coverage and discussion. After RE8 their marketting has been so fricking clumsy and low-effort. I'm still in shock over how bad the MH Wilds reveal was. It really just feels like Capcom is cutting back on costs and the main thing to go first was their marketting team budget. Theres an undeniable cheapness to their presentations now, especially when it comes to the music. DD2 is only REALLY exciting if you know about DD1's potential for a sequel going into it. DD2 still just looks like "Skyrim at home" to most normalgays and that is all Crapcoms fault.

I just like the look of Dark Ages style armor. You can hardly get it in any video games. The only examples I can find are Mordhau, modded Skyrim, Assassin's Creed Valhalla (barely) and Elden Ring. Hell, I was astonished Fromsoft had the creativity to expand beyond Crusaders wearing chainmail jammies.
