Why did I fall for the gayming laptop meme. Its go so dam hot and over heats and runs games worse then my 700 dollar desktop gpu. I took it to a airport to game while I was waiting and everyone looked at me funny.

I have an MSI GT75 Titan-056 [that laptop in the picture]. It runs at 35 idle, 40-45 in use, and mid 70s in The Witcher 3 on second highest settings, no hair works.

It's not a laptop, it's classified as a workstation. It weighs well over twenty pounds. Dedicated desktop GPU. Low-mid fans when playing The Witcher 3. I'd look at you strange, too.

I travel. I needed a solution. I have a toy that you don't. Cry about it. As I said, low-mid fans. I never max anything out because it tries to use the hardware to the maximum, and I don't like that. I am better than you, eat shit.

No, it's really objectively not. You can look up the stats of the laptop I listed. I can just grab my backpack and go, the whole thing vs you leaving the desktop. Ganker really needs to fricking get over this. We're not in the early 2000s anymore. The best gaming laptops are literally dedicated desktop hardware in big ass laptops like mine. The only thing that's actually better on a desktop is thermals.

Fair, but when your house is on fire or you just go somewhere else, I always have the security of knowing where my gear is. Peace of mind is priceless.

                >or you just go somewhere else
Just buy a low end used laptop. Only cringelords play games on the go, and only MEGA cringelords play AAA slop on the go.
                >I always have the security of knowing where my gear is
The frick does that even mean? Your PC is still at home, you know where it is.

You're dumb as shit. I already said I travel.

I legitimately hate Ganker. I know this board is filled with younggays, but holy shit.

It's loud as frick, heavy as frick, hot as frick, and has shit battery life. I can put my deck in my backpack with a battery pack (or two even) and be set for 12 hours on a plane. The laptop will be too hot for your lap and too big to fit on the tray on the seat in front of you on the plane. Like I'm glad you're happy with it, but my Alienware M15 was a massive pain in the ass and I hated it. I've never once hated my deck. I'd say the laptop has an advantage for general productivity use, but it's going to be obnoxiously loud regardless. Pic related is my productivity and media laptop for when I travel. Dual boot windows 11 and kali linux. Very comfy and quiet. Not as good for gaming of course, but that's what the deck is for.

And you sacrifice quality, I don't. I get the same experience as I would with a desktop, everywhere I go. My laptop doesn't get hot, and there are games I can play without the fans making audible noise. I also use headphones. I've also used my laptop on a plane, but don't like to. Never can get into the mood.

There is more than one laptop that can run the Witcher 3 within a price range of nearly 3000 dollars, and they don't all come with qualifiers like doubling as a rifle rated body armor plate. I don't think you understand the point of my post, let's blame the buyer's remorse and move on.

The difference is those won't have a fricking one to one desktop GPU in them or they'll have abysmal thermals. My laptop is 2/3rds metal. Of fricking course it's heavy.

Good for you. My laptop is still better than all consoles and over half of all PCs. Cry about it. Ain't no new game out until Baldur's Gate 3 worth playing, and I ain't playing that till I play the other two.

Yes my $500 laptop runs games worse than a $700 desktop. But I have hundreds of Steam/GOG games I’ve never downloaded that it can run. As well as plenty of others that I can choose to play again, such as Warlock: Master of the Arcane, MOO2, Jagged Alliance, Endless Legend, and Loom.

Same. Just lucked into this desktop about a month ago for 300. Little old but it's a good start for upgrading. 3600X, 32 GB DDR4, and a 1080 OC. Laptop's currently in a drawer while I decide what to do with it.

Should've gotten a steam deck. I literally get people asking me what it is and if they can watch for a bit. Even had a father ask me if it's worth buying just to play some games while waiting to pick up his kids in the car.

Laptop is fine if you only want to play older stuff. Anything from 2015 and backwards will run fine on a cheap low end gaming laptop. Buying a laptop to play modern games is silly.

    Just bought today:
    >AM5 Mobo
    >7800X3D
    >7900XT
    >64GB of RAM ( dual channel kit )

Thinking about buying a SeaSonic PSU this time around bros, they still make high quality PSU's?
Also looking for a new minimalistic tower, have my eyes on the Fractal North, anyone have it? Concerned about the new console HUEG GPU's conflicting with the case.

Decided to go AMD and drop nVidia after non-stop driver issues as of late. Also dropped ASUS brand shit too, tired of their shit QC.

Portability/flexibility. I'd much rather a desktop, but when I had to sacrifice my desktop to my mom to replace the tower I built for her almost a decade prior, I bought a laptop because pandemic pricing made getting a new desktop completely unobtainable. Having something that breaks down quickly and can transport more easily does make sense for some use cases, like people that are trying to stretch a laptop they bought during the coof into something more viable long term.
