WW: Great Sea is empty and game was sloppily finished (only 5 dungeons and the Triforce Quest)
SS: Waggle gimmicks, terrible pacing, re-using the same areas 3x, The Sky is as empty as WW's Great Sea
Best Zelda game of all time. No, I’m not a zoomer (I’m 38.) Yes, I’ve played every other game in the series. If you don’t at least consider TP a top 5 Zelda game then you have shit taste in games.
>ages,
Crossing the overworld was too much of a pain-in-the-ass in that game for my tastes.
I enjoyed the dungeons, but the overworld took it out of me.
TP is in the top 4 worst along side SS, BOTW, and TOTK. I wouldnt count hyrule warriors since thats just musuo slop but if you want to make it a top 5 there you go.
Even if you think less of OoT over this game there are still a lot better Zelda games. As far as combat goes I'd put Wind Waker, Majora and the BoTW games over this one. That's just the 3D games.
TP's problems keep me from replaying it.
Hyrule Field's too big and empty.
Giant darkness walls to keep you firmly from exploring.
Collect-a-thons to open dungeons (light bugs)
Very weak cast.
Dungeon Items that are virtually useless outside the dungeons (maybe 1 use per item out of the dungeon?)
The Yeti Mansion was neat in concept, but that doesn't save the entire game.
>another bait thread trying to make TP look better than OOT.
Watch him say that OOT's intro is also long, or that TP's intro has more varied gameplay and teaches you more.
The only good ideas in this game are the dual clawshots and the beyblade disc and you hardly use them. It would have been neat if they expanded on the combat uses of his items to compliment the sword techniques, but like so much else in this game it was left half-baked.
Still, it holds up well against the Zelda's that came after it. One could say this is where the cracks started to show. Like Final Fantasy on PlayStation, this 90s hit franchise has struggled to recenter its identity since its great successes in the early 3D era.
It didn't launch gracefully and it hasn't aged gracefully.
Most niche Zelda game, along with Skyward Sword, in the series IMO.
Like, yeah, it sold well, but Wind Waker clearly had the larger share of fan nostalgia over the years, whereas TP is just zoomers growing up thinking this was the first and only Zelda game that existed. For me, I was 12yo, and I felt the following about TP:
Pros >An intro that built up the context about living normally before things get dark >Lots of characters in the plot >Great temple-locations >I like "Gritty-Zelda" aesthetic fine.
Cons >The swordplay and advanced moves are not balanced well with the enemy designs, and become tedious >You want Mature Zelda but the damage-ratio is more forgiving than Wind Waker, and you auto-block by simply targeting?? >The story is a HOT MESS >Ganondorf has no motivation >The Twilight "threat" against Hyrule is unclear >Link is the most derpy faced, passive version of himself in the most cinematic, choreographed story yet.
Generally speaking I loved the game until about the point where Zant almost kills Midna, and I didn't realize it until the end, but I think the momentum of the game and the narrative dies completely in the second half. OoT wasn't like that, because the Adult-twist was so sudden, and changed the mood of every existing location, the temples really did advance the difficulty curve, and after everything, there's a great point of no return when Zelda is stolen, and you know you have to bring the Triforce together, and give Ganondorf what he always needed. TP doesn't have this. You go up to save Zelda, but last you saw she "died" and Midna yelled "NOooo", and she's just alive??? And what is going to happen? What's the consequence of Ganon having her inside diamond over Hyrule Castle, while the pedestrians are lollying around outside, and the Twilight areas are gone?
TP is the Dark Knight Rises of Zelda.
The newer a game the best it ages, because SHOCKER; video games are a product of their time. They're not vehicles for you to relive your fricking childhood like so many of you morons believe.

>Best Zelda game of all time. [...] Yes, I’ve [...] shit taste in games.
I kept the important parts of your post.
>top 5 Zelda game
aLttP
OoT
Hyrule Warriors
Botw
Link's Awakening
Majora's Mask
Oracle of Seasons
They're not in any particular order, but they're all better than TP.
Link’s awakening is a perfect Zelda Game
Good list, let me add on it
>also better
totk, albw
>also better but i can understand if someone disagrees
zelda 1, ages, ww, minish cap

Everything else is better than these games
>Hyrule Warriors
Opinion invalid

it did not. you're a zoomie.
morons
It aged the worst though
...and I'm saying that as an elder doomer who grew up with it
Instead of two Cube games, I would have preferred one large TP-like game with the WW art style.
It didn't though, it aged the worst of the 3D Zeldas
It did not. TP is easily the absolutely worst Legend Of Zelda game. The one I recommend any newbie to skip.
TP was when 3d zeldas started to turn to shit, we just had no idea how much worse things would get after it though
its a good game not amazing but not shit either
TP's problems keep me from replaying it.

It didn't. It's an awful game
Maybe on planet moron.
TP was already outdated by 2006 standards.
It's not hard to stay mediocre when you start there.
LMAO it's one of the shittiest game in the series. the gamecube era was a disgrace for any real Zelda fan
>the gamecube era was a disgrace for any real Zelda fan
it only had the zelda collection, wind waker and twilight princess
you think skyward sword (the biggest flop) was better than wind waker, your opinions are pure trash
all garbage games. You're a disgusting gamecube troony with shit taste in games
>sure im the problem
ok scitzo
implying in a fanboy i had a gamecube but i also had xbox and PS2 it was a good console and it had a decent amount of games
Better artstyle and cool atmosphere. WW was too cartoony, SS was better but not as impressive.
TP aged liked dogshit. The graphics look awful
>another bait thread trying to make TP look better than OOT.

Because imp Midna makes me horny and fuels my erections!
