they focus on creating interesting gameplay, and they don't have the manpower to make every piece of an open world unique, at least what's copied is interesting
>posts two of the best open world games of the last decade
It's just part of the genre. Zelda and Elden Ring both did it tastefully and without insulting the player's intelligence.
Corruption in Japan is insane. The amount of money that goes missing between the budget stage and the actual project stage is immense. Makes sense that the workers end up cutting corners
You forget why we play games. It's to have fun. If the game is fun, people will play it. If the game is unfun, it will be forgotten as is the game with this game.
>normal enemy appears multiple times
that's alright >miniboss appears multiple times
not great but I'll manage >boss appears multiple times
really not my cup of tea >main boss appears multiple times
OVER THE FRICKING LINE
Elden Ring's copypaste is a small problem, BotW/TotK's copypaste is a GIGANTIC problem.
This basically sums it up. Even if ER has some repeats, the variety is unmatched. Meanwhile BotW/TotK are inherently repetitive.
BY FAR the biggest issue with BotW and TotK is the dogshit enemy variety. You fight the same 3 enemies over and over and over again. You get really sick of them by the end of BotW and then 80% of the combat in TotK is against those same exact enemies that you're already tired of. "Oh but they have one new attack each!" Frick off.
Let me tell you, no matter what the rest of the game is like, if the next Zelda game has BotW Bokoblins, Moblins or Lizalfos in it, with the same fighting styles, then I'm not buying it no matter what.

No you don't. BotW and TotK's enemy variety shits all over most games - a roll call of unique enemies which require their own unique strategy to overcome.
Name some open worlds with better enemy variety. What are you comparing it to?

What other buzzwords do you have up your sleeve?
They didn't.
why change something working?

No wonder it died so quickly. Just copy-paste.
So does this mean that streamer games like Fortnite are the pinnacle of game design to you?
clearly just chatting is peak game design. if you disagree, you are big gay.

You posted a picture of the twitch numbers as if they have any value and now you reply with this? At least try to make sense.

BotW has more gameplay variety in its tutorial section alone than Elden Ring has in its entirety.

what a shitty bait
No argument.
Every time.
will there ever be a genuine thread about discussing video games in this shithole
Probably not. What have you been playing lately? I'm about to start up a new build in Elden Ring. Gonna go for some kind of faith set up.

always has been
TotK and Elden Ring are both better than 99% of all video games made in the past 20 years
