I'd rather play Persona 5 ten times before booting up BG3, also the Pathfinder games are better and basically the non-casualized version of it.

BG3 was so successful because it had pretty graphics and gay sex, that's it, the superior Pathfinder games didn't sell remotely as much because they don't have such pretty graphics and they don't have smut for losers. Underrail too, it probably sold even less than the two Pathfinder titles.

I dropped BG3 like 4 hours in.
Genshin/Starrail are infinitely more enjoyable character wise, story wise even gameplay wise, and are free and on my phone if i'm not at home. inb4 tourists get angry because i don't care about homos trying to sodomize me if i as much as interact with them.

Not sure what you’re talking about OP, we’re currently in a JRPG renaissance. Persona is now mainstream, NieR Automata sold gangbusters (to the point NieR got a remake), Atelier caught a ton of attention thanks to Ryza, SMT V did well, DQ11 sold better than any prior DQ in the west, FFVIIR is huge, Yakuza is huge, Octopath is doing well, Xenoblade made a huge splash, even smaller series like Ys are thriving.
Meanwhile Mass Effect is on indefinite haitus, Elder Scrolls is MIA, Starfield is a disappointment, Dragon Age is MIA, Cyberpunk… happened, Fallout lost the plot, Diablo 4 is getting roasted, Outer Worlds was middling. If anything, besides BG3, WRPGs are struggling to make it.
