Yeah, this is it. Marriage at all is completely optional and nobody flirts with you regardless of their gender. Nobody remarks on the possibility of gay marriage either since it's apparently a normal thing. It's not forced and there's no fanfare, it just lets you marry whoever you want regardless of your choice at character creation.
In games with custom main characters and optional dating, playersexual npcs is the norm

Fantasy and by extension fantasy vidya were always open season for people with more liberal views. Never forget that Peter Jackson did both LoTR and Harry Potter. The people who played DnD in the 80s would be (and in fact are if they survived) the BLM/LGBT++ people of today.
