Why did nobody ever complain that you could have gay marriage in this game, or other fantasy games for that matter like Fable and Dragon Age?

Why did nobody ever complain that you could have gay marriage in this game, or other fantasy games for that matter like Fable and Dragon Age?

Why are gay relationships in fantasy games a flash point all of a sudden?

It was never advertised and pushed as a big feature. It was just there without any fanfare. That’s how you do it right.

This. It’s like how redditors hate Christianity just because it’s not favorable to homosexuality. People these days base their entire personalities over sexual acts that they themselves may not even partake in.

Redditors hate Christianity because influential groups used to try to shut down nearly every form of media that was remotely secular

Using the gays as a distraction is on a 5 year cycle rotation for the right wing.

ESG and corporate super PACs in the anglo countries ruined every ounce of good will in the public towards these matters

is ESG even a problem outside of the United States?

      Literally happens every fricking game.

        Rephrase this

is ESG even a problem outside of the United States?

        I’m Europe and the US
        Otherwise thankfully it isn’t

I can go back to the pop culture in my shithole ESL country to bunker away from these fricking shills thank god

The intention behind it. Bioware fricked up when they added sexualities
All characters should be player sexual

  6. 9 months ago

Because it was an player choice to do so, not one that the devs tried shepherding you into with obnoxious homosexual companions

Yeah, this is it. Marriage at all is completely optional and nobody flirts with you regardless of their gender. Nobody remarks on the possibility of gay marriage either since it's apparently a normal thing. It's not forced and there's no fanfare, it just lets you marry whoever you want regardless of your choice at character creation.

In games with custom main characters and optional dating, playersexual npcs is the norm

Probably because romantic relationships are non existent if you don't wear the amulet of Mara. That and NPC's won't even entertain the idea unless you make the first move.
I guess everyone just prefers Skyrim's mindless automatons

they did. especially fable and dragon age 2. believe it or not many gamers find it unwelcome and devs always surprise them with it instead of warning.

because having gay companions who try to have gay sex with you in every interaction you have with them was not a problem in skyrim

this doesn't happen in any game, you're regurgitating shit you heard

"Player-sexual" is simultaneously the most lazy relationship system and also the most subversive. "Everyone is a little gay, bro"

Fantasy and by extension fantasy vidya were always open season for people with more liberal views. Never forget that Peter Jackson did both LoTR and Harry Potter. The people who played DnD in the 80s would be (and in fact are if they survived) the BLM/LGBT++ people of today. It's absolutely maniacal to ask for heterosexual viking marriages in a whimsical RPG with lizard and cat people made by a huge corporation, even if there weren't queers to pander to.

If it were something even vaguely historic like Kingdom Come Deliverance or Miunt & Blade, you could be right. But this is a whimsical game where you could play as a bug hunting Black elf wizard or a furry so you can either keep crying to Varg or shut up.

Peter Jackson had nothing to do with Harry Potter lol

I have no idea why I thought this, my bad. But the point still comes across. It's still often the same people who are audiences for both in many cases.

Because it's all agenda pushing, all of these games are shit, but elder scrolls is /misc/'s favorite flavor of shit. By using politics as a cudgel I can attack other pieces of shit while promoting my piece of shit, and subvert good game discussion entirely.

You don't find it odd that all of the companions, literally all of them, are bisexual sex fanatics?

  16. 9 months ago
    Anonymous

because in 2011 that was UNCOMMON in games.
people complain today because they make the rare COMMON.
