Replay value my dude. It's that simple. Why did arcades die out?

You think arcade games have no replay value? I guess you've never really seriously attempted scoring any arcade games before, then.

To be fair, neither has he.

How can a man look like a dishonest fraud so much and actually be one.

Because making a game purely around building score is needlessly limiting, unless it's a minigame inside a larger game or something. It's unsurprising that it basically died out in the 80s with shit like the C64, NES, and Master System letting you do oh so much more for a videogame than some tiny 2600 venture.

Besides, what are you gonna do that's better than Tetris, Columns, or Pac-Man?

Replay value my dude. It's that simple. Why did arcades die out?

Arcade games developed well past just being simple score attack games, you had all kinds of sidescrolling adventures, two player fighting games, racers, etc, etc.

They didn't die. More like degraded into mobile games.
I wish Nintendo did more of those simple short games like Pyoro and Paper Plane, I played that a lot. By the way, WarioWare is about score attacking too.

        >More like degraded into mobile games.
I forgot about mobile trash, so I guess it's not quite dead.

        >WarioWare is about score attacking too.
That's like a whole collection of different minigames though, and it has story.

        > posts a picture of a man that couldn't beat arcades and had to cheat to get records
this board is a complete fricking embarrassment. looking forward to when someone blows that homosexual's head off with a shotgun. he deserves no less for his israeli ways.

      >Why did arcades die out?
because arcade industry tried to continue operating like the gambling industry and failed because consumer electronics hardware became so advanced and cheap that the arcade industry could no longer compete, nor could they continue to fund expensive custom designed arcade boards. turns out trying to israelite more coins out of players using the same tricks in the gambling industry had severe consequences. late 1990s/early 2000s the arcade industry's customers were shutting down unprofitable arcades at rapid rates.

Yuji Naka is a hack and killed Sega. Why the frick didn't he just make a 2.5D Sonic 4 first and then his flying homosexual jester bullshit game later on.

Business nigs don't want you to buy one game and be re-playing it all the time (unless it's microtransactions filled). They usually want you to buy one game, finish it and buy another one.

Nights is the gayest fricking shit I’ve ever seen and I don’t know why people try to prop it up as an underrated classic

Bomberman still keeps the score attack genre alive. Tho more people are interested in multiplayer bomb matches than getting a +2 million high score

Because every modern game with a leaderboard is just gonna have the top ranks consist of homosexuals who are clearly hacking, so why bother competing.
