Question is, why did he wait until he was 60 and dying of cancer? But yes, why not just have her teleported to the institute? What a piece of shit good-for-nothing son. I always shoot him when I enter the institute.

Why did shaun make a knock-off of his dad (Danse) and send him directly at his mom? Did he want his mom to get dicked down?

Doing the lifting for bethesda's shitty writing.

Shaun is dying. He knows he's dying. Being raised completely separate from his parents in an institution that also has spent the whole time sucking his wiener and instilling their importance into him has reduced any actual interest in his parents into scientific curiosity. If he'd had needed your DNA for some bullshit or an organ you'd have been harvested. Shaun was 100% committed to the agenda of the institute to..uh, whatever the frick they were even doing.
But now Shaun is old, the pressure to succeed is partly off because he already -made- it and the consequences of fricking up are reduced because death is now inevitable. So what do you do? You think about your life, you consider what stones you've not turned over whether out of guilt or sheer fricking curiosity.
What I do know is the parent turning up at the institute was not a formal part of the plan. Making you director? That's not Shaun's big clever overarching plan. It's a cope, a last-ditch moment to cover this moment of whimsy coming to fricking roost so when he does die, it isn't in ignominy with the institute for basically fricking whimsy.

      TL;DR:

he literally says it's to satisfy his curiosity, of seeing what would happen, the dude doesn't give a shit about him/her

, but with the tiniest of efforts it could have had some story impact instead of being a clusterfrick.

That's close, but crucially leaves out Shaun's status as an orphan, and that he wants to see if the reality of the parent matches his concept of them.

And the counterfoil to this point (if they'd even tried) would be to observe that without any kind of support unleashing your parent into the wasteland was if anything attempting to achieve what confirmation bias would have already put in Shaun's head. His mother/father were not supposed to make it, they were not supposed to come charging after them after four months of becoming arch-generalissimo of every faction and asking every single person in the wasteland for a cup of adhesive/cum(depending on mods).
I genuinely do not think was actually curious about anything. I think he wanted a final affirmation before he died that his life in the institute was the life best possibly spent, that his parents could not possibly have cared for him as much as they had, and why until the exact moment you the player leave shaun with absolutely no recourse but to, only then does he acknowledge them and this incredibly slapdash plan comes together about a directorate.

Arguably because your cyber-augmented stone cold psychotic killer and a small platoon of skelerobots probably felt like a solid win and a way to go, at least in his own head "well, I tried!"
It's like the Master wanting you to beat him by sending a squad of heavily armed supermutants at you with a note stapled to the back of one with directions to him.

            >with a note stapled to the back of one with directions to him
Except Kellogg didn't have anything that would help "you" reach the Institute directly like that example.
Nothing about "Shaun wanted you to go out of your own way to find him" makes any sense. Unless he expected
            1. Vergil to escape and him having near photographic memory of the teleportation device blueprints despite him being a genetics expert.
            2. Kellogg's brain device to be decipherable by using an institute synth(Nick) and the device in memory den.
            3. You being able to defeat a courser, which allegedly are so tough even the Brotherhood have trouble with them, to get the signal code.
            4. You being able to find and defeat Kellogg before it.
            5. You not becoming a supermutant's chewtoy at any point.
            6. The commonwealth's factions having elite hackers that can somehow hack an entry to the institute somehow.

Even taking "I just got curious" at face value, when the course of events relies on so many accidents to happen in your favor, requires one to write an entire headcanon that he let all of it to happen on purpose.
Only aspect of it that makes sense is that Shaun's little experiment is so fricking worthless and inefficiently handled that it fits the Institute's motto of "Frick around and find nothing".

He says that he wanted to see how you and the wasteland would affect one another, but that's obvious nonsense. It's clearly personal for him. He wants to see if you live up to the image of you that he has in his head.

Danse literally wants to kill all the institute, the question is why he would make an android that wants to kill him and his whole organization if he believes in it so fanatically

fusion girl has fricked up weighting in the armpit areas that will most likely never get fixed, but it allows dismemberment.
cbbe has fricked up knees that you have to fix by designating a separate skeleton mod for females but no dismemberment.
TWB and AB are CBBE derivatives and suffer the same downsides of CBBE
        Pick your garbage.

cbbe is also looks like complete slop once you go outside 100% morphing. At least with fusion girl you can morph things out to something ridiculous like 600% and the body still looks OK.
