Fake action combat is not good combat.
FF16 and KH2 were better because they have tangible mechanics.
sure FF16 is sluggish cinematic slop but so is FF7R.
Why did so many people end up getting filtered by this?
>Padding
This is a problem I'm having with recent JRPGs. I keep trying to do /all/ the content, every sidequest to see everything and they just burn me out.
FF7R/FF16 might have been fun if I ignored everything except the main quest.
Wonder why I didn't feel the same about exploring every inch of old FFs.

They weren't nearly as long, for starters. Only thing that really padded them out was random battles.
>random encounters >text text text >ancient blurry textures and models >be me >play 7th Heaven mod with full voice acting and updated textures/models >just enough mods added to make it look "as I thought I remembered it back in 2000" >reach floor 67 in Shinra tower today >it's amazing
The voice acting mod is game changing for this.
The OG had godzilla monsters and all kinds of weird stuff and Nothing was stupid as seeing Hojo get dragged down a hallway by time jannies (which nobody even questions) so he couldn't spoil a plot down the line..
I got every trophy in the game and I have to say that this first installment's problem is the piss-poor japanese to english localization and needless enemy health-pool sponges.
Also, I know the time jannies are technically old Jenova and Cloud and company defeat her once and for all to free up the Life Stream from the Hell Jenova made, but it's still stupid. I personally would've preferred a straight up remake like Square promised in stead of some sequel.
Explain how you delete enemies and bosses quickly then, and have a nice day if the answer is “build up stagger”. Fastest I know of is Tifa and it still takes fricking forever + you have to play Tifa.
It’s FF, I expect to one shot trash enemies by the end of the game and even bosses if I explored and grinded enough.

I’ll take your silence as “I’m a fricking liar” which makes me sad, I really would like to know how to make the game play less like molasses in winter.
"""Story""" and unnecessary padding. Best combat in the franchise, though.

It got leaked.
The padding and forced walking. Rebirth seems to be fixing this though.
the boss fights were moronic?
too much filler and time jannies are moronic
cause it's a shit movie game with atrocious writing, terrible animations, terrible graphics and a distinct lack of polish all the way through.
>It's a movie ga-
wow long canned animations that awkwardly flail and slide around the screen for no reason. cool!
Incredible baby Tifee.
I like the game but its pacing is horrific sometimes, and that's a damn shame because the pacing of the original was top notch.

(thought we were talking about ff7 original)
>Sep takes Cloud to the edge of creation and he attempts to convince Cloud to fight fate with him.
Because it's fricking dumb.
And the original wasn't?

Shit player detected

I can fill stagger gauges like any other dumb animal, but it's still needlessly time consuming.

The translations are horrific, they are not even subtitles but ‘dubtitles’.
Feels like a rushed cheap game made by a garbage studio.
>Phoneposter
It's mediocre is eventually too bland to continue playing.
>action-troons filtered
>ironic weebs filtered
>mmo addicts filtered
True Japanese KINO enjoyers loved it.
Well, for one thing, I actually like the original game.
time jannies
I was today years old when I found out you can set and change targets during the pause when you switch characters.
