it's actually far more noticeable in-motion than in screenshots. Transparent elements in particular smear like a 1970s radar screen, or sparkle like
LMAO
and don't be fooled by the other idiots, FSR is also complete dogshit. This entire "feature" is for ultra-poorgays yet paradoxically treated as premium by both companies.
>This entire "feature" is for ultra-poorgays yet paradoxically treated as premium by both companies.
both features look like shit on any resolution below 1440p
It looks like shit though.
Its as bad as temporal AA in motion, ie, unusable for twitchy games.
Static, you have odd checker patterns on surfaces with SSR.
I would rather have low graphics settings than cope with this trash. Or drop down to 1080.
you all shit and fart and cum in your pants when you see the most photorealisticest screenshots ever, then immediately proceed to dogpile on every other game that doesn't reach the same mark.
so, modern photorealism techniques prioritize the perfect screenshot over a clean and stable moving image. by relying on temporal algorithms to amortize calculations over multiple frames, and quickly extrapolate new data within or between new frames, advanced and expensive techniques can be *barely* squeezed into real-time speeds, to generate even more realistic screenshots.
you asked for this, when unreal 5 debuted and you cummed and shitted and farted your pants over detailed rocks and their matrix demo, completely ignoring these downsides. now you have it, enjoy your temporalslop for the next 10 years
>you asked for this, when unreal 5 debuted and you cummed and shitted and farted your pants over detailed rocks and their matrix demo, completely ignoring these downsides. now you have it, enjoy your temporalslop for the next 10 years
What are the downsides of unreal 5? (Not saying there isn't, I just never worked with unreal so I don't know much about it)
Because gaymers have unrealistic expectations thus cheap tricks need to be used. >Nooooo I need to play this on my 8K 240 hz monitor!!! >WTF what do you mean I can't see this character's individual nose hairs!? >OMGGG this forest only has twenty million trees wheres the detail!!!?1
It can't find it anymore but there was a case of one game where a gaymer counted the pixels and complained on the interwebs that one pixel was missing from a certain scene/frame.
People complained about antialiasing when it became mainstream. The thing is, we didn't even need AA on CRT displays. AA makes the games look better on LCD screens but the early versions were expensive and made the image look blurry.
With DLSS you can make games look better and still have passable frame rates but it will be less accurate.
It's nvidia's attempt to frick with consumers perception to scam them out of money. The current cards are not 4k capable, but people wouldn't shell out the exorbitant amount of money nvidia is charging for them if they were honest and treated them as the 1080p cards that they are, so they lie and call them 4k with dlss in the fine print. Frame gen is just them going a step further so they can lie about frame rates too.
>Why did the video game industry fall for the DLSS meme
the game industry doesn't control the GPUs you buy and the meme features you use. NVIDIA isn't the game industry
Imagine your hobby being spending thousands on a GPU just to be a beta tester for an AI technology that NVIDIA makes. Fricking kek, modern gaming is a joke.
DLSS and all its related techniques are currently the most pragmatic realtime solution for the problem of subpixel artifacts (sparkling etc) introduced by modern realtime pipelines. Unless you'd like to go back to plain old TAA again.
DLSS, and TAA are both abominations. Graphics is lost. Hopefully soon china will invade Taiwan, the destruction of TSMC will put an end to this failed future.
>DLSS
And unless you're doing a frame-by-frame analysis, you won't notice it.
LMAO
Isn't that DLSS 1 from five years ago? They've improved a great bit since then.
DLSS gays on suicide watch
The floor is just full of glitter, can't you see it?
>the floor is lava

That's the point. It's a way for users to cope with high resolutions without maintaining the hardware grunt for it. 1440p is extremely cheap nowadays.

You'll notice through the latency.
because it's cheaper than selling a card that could be made more powerful to handle true frame rates.
you notice it, and you notice how it looks horrendous.
not by much.
looks fine to me

Having someone else do the heavy lifting so you can give less of a shit sounds very on brand for big chain video game producers.

Because it enables lazy developers
I always activate DLSS3 whenever supported. The artifacts and input lag are almost never noticeable while actually playing.
So they don't have to admit that they ship bloated messes since then they would have to clean that up.

DLSS is nvidia's attempt to fix shitty game optimizations. Now its become lifeline for those poor game devs

>videogaymes
wrong board.
What the point, do you have to wait for the frame 2 to be rendered to generate the frame 1.5?
So it's just smear frames?
money
poortards seething over nvidia while AMD just refuses to actually compete, SAD
>Why did the video game industry fall for the DLSS meme

Well, it's better than the AMD chinkshit clone

It looks "good enough" for your average gaymer moron and allows Nvidia to keep delivering underpowered hardware for insane pricing.
normies liked TAA and they built off that
