as a setting, Kalos and Galar are mostly fine. it's the game mechanics (or lack thereof) that bring those games down

Because GF's game design becomes more and more soulless year after year

A combination of them being gloomy in real life as well as Game Freak relying a lot on stereotypes for non-Japanese regions. The only regions since Sinnoh that haven't been overly stereotypical to my tastes would be Unova (since they literally ignored the inspiration outside of Castelia) and maaaaybe Paldea (ignored inspiration a lot again). Alola just about doesn't make it.

I thought Alola was good, but that can be explained that Hawaii is the number one tourist destination for Japanese so I'm sure plenty in the staff had their own personal experiences in Hawaii.

Alola was alright but I feel it was hindered a bit by the 3DS. I feel like Hawaii works better as an open world region

Every European region has been kinda shitty so far tbh, which sucks because they could be much cooler

The Japan regions have deep and interesting insight into their regions. Galar, Kalos, and Palea feel like someone walked into that countries gift shop for an hour and made a game.

thats exactly whats happened. Japs have no clue about the outer world, thats why foreign regions are bad and still have jap stuff. Only Orre was cool since they got to use way more stereotypes from Hollywood movies.

Kalos is actually a good region even if the games are lackluster.
    Galar has absolutely nothing.

In terms of regions based on a European country, Sinnoh's post game did fine.
Kalos only needed a Zed treatment, it suffered from not getting a 3rd game.

Galar is dogshit though, while Paldea would be acceptable, if the NPCs didnt look like trannies and if the game actually ran at more than 15 fps.

Kalos suffered from it's only identity being fashion and Mega Evolution: The Region

Because they started basing regions on things outside of Japan when they started pandering to the west, and western pandering always ultimately leads to garbage because nips think what the ruling class and its minions want is representative of what the people wants.

Because these two and Alola were made with the mentality of simplifying their real world inspirations and adding Pokemon. Alola did that too. The rest didn’t go crazy with “capturing” their inspiration region.

The UK is just getting more and more irrelevant. Many countries are more relevant than it by GDP, you literally just have to look it up. They got beat at their own game.

Yes that's only because the UK, particularly London is used for money laundering and a lot of money is passed through the boundaries of the country since it still has legacy financial institutions and that aging prestige. A huge issue with the UK is that the country is horribly wealth imbalanced and London comprises the vast majority of the country's economic output, while the rest of the country is neglected and mistreated. So there's a big brain drain from small towns and cities to London since if you want to make something of yourself you have next to no choice but to go there.

This all goes back to the UK's age old tradition of classism and a population that's got a lot of soul and personality but has been woefully exploited by parasitic social institutions and a redundant ruling class for nearly the past 1000 years.

            >The UK is just London and dodgy financial services

Living in the Norf is based and comfy as frick Anon. People are friendly and you can still afford a house. Londoncucks just have to tell themselves this fable to get themselves to sleep at night in the cupboard under somebody's kitchen sink that they pay £5000 per week in rent for.

Now, you are largely correct about the country's history of class exploitation and Thatcher had a lot to answer for in transforming the country for the worse. But economic prosperity is not about numbers on paper. It doesn't actually matter if the GDP is high, what matters is if it's possible to live comfortably, and the UK is definitely still one of the easiest places to live reasonably well.

For now, anyway. If the Conservatives somehow win the next election, then the country is definitely doomed forever.

Japanese people are even more insular and ignorant of the outside world than Americans.

It's a combination of them both lacking knowledge of those regions in real life, as well as being xenophobes who didn't want to make games based on them to begin with, all on top of the fact that they have long since stopped caring about the quality of their games in general.

GF needs to make regions less inspired by real-life places imo. Did we really need a soccer playing and KISS pokemon in Galar?

Fr why did they combine Portugal and Spain as a single region? It'd be like combining Japan and Korea as a singld region just because

It was such a waste since Portugal has a lot of potential as a region in its own right. It's very different compared to Spain

Because nobody likes about Portugal, they should be grateful they got a whole town
