Probably something to do with the fact that Gold and Silver aren't GBC games but just Game Boy games. It might have been an error with the coloring of the Super Game Boy. At the time when these were in development, they probably figured half of the people playing them would be seeing everything in black and white anyways, on their Gameboy Pockets or Gameboy Lights.
