Why did they forget about Arbok having different marks?

Why did they forget about Arbok having different marks?

If they can manage to code Spinda into having trillions of different variations why can't they make it so a few Pokémon have a dozen different patterns?

The pattern they kept is the one made for Sinnoh.

Game Freak wanted to differentiate Pokemon in the same species with dogshit like IVs instead of something cool like different designs. Now they don't really care.

Every pokemon should have unique spots like spinda. They really have no excuse not to do it besides incompetency.

Seems more like they didn't care for consistency until gen 4. The dppt sprite looks like a gen 1 remaster

Even in get one there wasn't consistency. Over time, they just copied what the anime had.

Spinda will never return with the spots btw

Did they do something to Spinda's spots in recent gens?

GO and BDSP are shit games that broke the formula for Spinda's spots, so instead of just like, fixing it, they made it so Spinda can be transferred to and from those games.

Arbok is native only to the Kanto/Johto regions where they do indeed have two distinct facial markings. Arboks seen elsewhere around the world are almost always the Kanto subspecies, with the exception of Hoenn which at some point in the past seems to have imported the Johto subspecies but now gets their Arboks from Kanto like everyone else.

    >this again
Arbok never had multiple patterns in the games, it only ever had 2.
The one you see in GSC and RSE is the exact same pattern, and it was actually the pattern used in the updated artwork around Blue. That became Arbok's main pattern in everything (except the anime) and then with FRLG they reverted back to the original pattern from the Red and Green artwork and it's been the pattern since.
Multiple unique patterns were only ever in the Manga and talked about in Pokedex entries

Literally just a lazy cartoon cobra doesn't deserve anything good

They got lazy because they started focusing on making Pokemon resemble their Sugimori art as closely as possible, which came at the cost of Arbok's patterns.
