Who is to say he wasn't always one? When did we ever see his face before D3?

      Me.
      I say that.
You know the only reason he was black is because of CURRENT YEAR-Wokeisms when D3 came out and the "mystical wise magic Black"-shtick is as old as the "noble savage"-Trope which hilariously enough arent considered racist anymore.

Probably, but they had black characters in the previous games back in the 90’s. And to be honest, this wasn’t that different from something like 90’s Baldur’s Gate.

Come to think of it, I've never seen anyone complaining about Sarevok being a Black person in bg2. But at least in his case it fits; angry, violent, selfish/evil, poor impulse control, lacks common sense...

        >he was black is because of CURRENT YEAR-Wokeisms when D3 came out
Paladin was always a Black person and he looks similar to him, so both being warriors of light light thematically.

He wasn't white in previous Diablos.

        >You know the only reason he was black is because of CURRENT YEAR-Wokeisms
        blah-blah, D1 and 2 had blacks.

Makes me wonder, should he have light skin as angels should be too powerful to need something like melanin to protect their bodies from the sun? Or would they all be dark skinned from living in heaven which theoretically should be a realm where its light 24/7?

      moronation.

      Diablo angels have no skin.

ARPGs are not RPGs, they are gamified psychological trickery.

its actually pretty funny when Angels lose their wings they get "cursed"
The writers were saying being black is a curse, like Cain in the bible.

Counter question, why do you think that he was turned into one instead of always being one?

Tyrone is gaelic, it's not a Black person name.

It's been culturally appropriated by African Americans to such a pervasive extent that it's exclusively associated with black people now.

Totally arbitrary. Angels in Diablo are just the energy wings you see.

If you look at how he looked in D2, then him having dark skin is reasonable artistic choice.
I would say it is even good choice, because it makes him otherwordly and clearly different from normal people.

However, I admit that if the very same game came out now, I would hate it as much as you do, because I am now much more annoyed but insensitive push for diversity.

Why does Diablo 4 lack Shield?(Beam shield like Demon and Mikhail from maplestory doesn't count), just like Genshin? D4 barb has 2h weapon as another secondary weapon. No shield. Just DW+2 large weapons as secondary(like Dual blade's katara in maplestory)

The reason for Tyrael's redesign in Diablo III was to give him a more imposing and powerful appearance, as well as to distinguish him from the other angelic characters in the game. The development team at Blizzard Entertainment wanted to create a character that looked more like a warrior, and they felt that a larger, more muscular physique would better convey that.

The change in Tyrael's skin color to a darker shade was not intended as a racial or cultural statement, but rather a design choice meant to convey his status as a being of pure light and justice. Additionally, the developers have stated that they wanted to make the angels in the game more visually distinct from each other, and giving Tyrael a different skin tone was one way to accomplish that.
