after expedition
i don't really read the patch notes it just became less fun and less varied, haven't played since
probably try poe 2, when it releases in the next 20 years
some bald fricking moron decided to frick up even basic crafting of magic flasks and double down on making people play trade sim because someone who does nothing but play poe 24/7 got an item too quickly through harvest crafting.
Lol just don't play trade league. What's your problem with crafting flasks? Can't you still use beast crafts to hit various mods? Or are you a pathfinder babby
Flask crafting is fine now but it's pretty obnoxious that they made every flask affix have multiple tiers and now you have to remember some random ilevels for your flasks if you want a certain level tier mod. Obviously that doesn't matter later on in late red maps, but it's just another thing you have to look up on 3rd party website because there's nothing in-game to tell you that. I fricking hate that kind of game design, and it's a very recent change (3.15 I believe). Also took them like six leagues to actually write on the beastcraft table what "of the hare" or "of the fat bald moron" affixes give.
Honestly? mostly just a stupid gripe from whenever they changed it ages ago. The system was fine and mostly free of dealing with ilevel shit and then they had to frick it up with mod tiers on items that didn't need that shit. Combine that with their hatred of good crafting in general and other stupid changes they kept making around that time and I just never went back. I've heard the game has 'improved' from the lowpoint it was at previously but I have a hard time finding the urge to play it because I know trade league is still trade league. And I don't do SSF because I usually do some amount of playing with friends when I play. No idea when I last played ranger on top of that.
I still play every league. Get a few characters to 9O in HCSSF and then get bored. Idk if I can ever go back to trade league. It's so annoying having to perform trades, plus it just feels more rewarding to only use the shit I use/craft.
i killed Maven this season, and the league's true boss form.
thats always the point that is good enough for me. everything beyond is a bit much and idgaf.
i think i got bored
already had done the same for like 10 hours (blow up mobs as they come up on the screen with no effort) so i was like : "ahhhrg frick this shit"
never booted up the game since
At some point it just becomes a trade sim instead of a game, and the trading sucks ass. And it became so bloated with new league mechanics that I don't feel like bothering anymore. Tried playing single player d2 again recently and I had a lot more fun with it for some reason, things actually dropped after a few mf runs and I didn't have to trade to progress, it just worked.
It's like Chris is secretly a Gankertard that enjoys pointless contrarianism purely because of the seething that results. Path of Exile is a graveyard of Chris's resentment and identity crisis.
>old builds nerfed into unplayability unless you have the best gear >every league there is op builds every single person is playing >nerf crafting because it's "too overpowered" to the point where you need to use an external simulator to work out how to make items but base all nerfs on builds on having these items >a group of players can make more currency than a single player will in 1/100th of the time
>mildly interested >open up stream >guy sprinting around with auto Xbox heug fireballs spraying everywhere >can't tell what the frick is happening
Is this an Adderall gay game
>monsters started to offscreen you in Legion >constantly add enemy effects that have the same color as the ground (dates back to malachai) >enemies and effects started to float around in 3D in a game that happens in 2D, blocking vision (started with Catarina boss fight I think) >after death effects every single league because monsters are no threat when they get oneshot as soon as they enter the sceen due to powercreep >general effect and screen clutter bloat
all this leads to you having to play the strongest builds, have highest survivability and blow up everything instantly becaue playing the game in a reactionary style is not possible anymore
this fat bald homosexual basically removed all gameplay over the years and I don't enjoy loot box opening simulator without it
D4 will come out and have no build customization depth, which is just as bad
being an ARPG fan is suffering
Because its developers are fricking incompetent and seem to have only accidentally made a good game, which is now getting worse every patch.
They have NO FRICKING idea what they're doing, as evidenced by the manifesto where they said >we're going to nerf altar rewards and buff maven rewards
what was the result of those updates? >altars are now more rewarding than EVER IN THE GAME'S HISTORY >maven rewards are still fricking shit and nobody does it
That is just one example of how shit the developer is. If I were that bad at my job I'd be fricking ashamed of myself.
The recent league was praised by morons for having one of the worst roguelike modes you've ever seen. Every update nerfs the game more and reduces build variety for no apparent gain. Every update increases the amount of grinding required for no gain. Trading is an absolute shit experience and is required for most builds. 95% of skills in the game are unplayable because they refuse to make balance passes in a game that is not competitive at all.
Oh and don't hold out hope for PoE2, it's most likely going to be shit since it won't be a fresh new game, but instead it will inherit everything from PoE1 and likely will be a bloated mess.
Your choice for an ARPG will be Diablo 4 (probably heavily pay 2 win but at least the gameplay will be fun) and PoE 2 whose only saving grace is only being slightly pay 2 win.
If the dev wasn't moronic, they would have started fresh with PoE2 and made it a $30 game to help keep out the bots and idiots. They have enough fans to not need to make it F2P now but it seems they're clueless.
>If the dev wasn't moronic, they would have started fresh with PoE2
I'm actually astounded this isn't the case. I thought that was the entire point of announcing a poe2 in the first place, it's a good excuse to start fresh and bring back the original vision of the game.
>and bring back the original vision of the game
it would just have the same problems, a fresh start does nothing
plus, look at ruthless, their "vision mode". literally the same game but 1% of the drops and no movement skills. it's a pointless, unbalanced mess.
It's the same thing over and over again it is endless. You constantly run the same maps going in circles hoping for a 0.001% drop that you can sell to some other addict.
currency bloat and bosses being moronic
after expedition
i don't really read the patch notes it just became less fun and less varied, haven't played since

It comes and goes in phases and is usually dependent on how easily I can blow through the early game as a melee physical build.
I beat the story on Regular Difficulty.
I haven't.
Burned myself out playing every league from essence to heist. Still check out each new league but can't be bothered to get a build into maps.
It's a game that takes a lot of time and now I don't have a lot of time.

Yeah true, I can't argue against that. It's a chore to have the wiki and poedb open constantly.

Acts1-10
I would honestly be fine paying GGG $ every league to skip the whole story and jump right into maps
is this guy a serial murderer or something? looks like a real psycho
>looks like a real psycho
You're not far from the truth tbh
he nerfs builds for fun. so yeah, basically
It's the only game that I can't run in my PC. Red maps more or less juiced? Nope, enjoy your 3 fps.
I stopped because it's a shit game with moronic amounts of bloat and band-aid fixes.
Also Chris is bald.
The harvest manifesto thread remains the most replied to thread on the poe reddit
Even the Archnemesis thread only has 1/3rd the amount of replies

There was nothing left to do in Sanctum
I'm sorry Chris I just had to go to bed after playing 30 hours nonstop. I'll be back tonight I promise

>hoard thousands of ex in standard
>they just randomly decide to make divs the main currency
>money stolen
frick this piece of shit game

BALD
I heard it was "follow a guide: the game" and decided it wasn't for me.
It's very much a game where you can play any build you want but the optimal build is like 1000x better than anything else.
It's a surprisingly boring game tbh. I'd rather play D2
>old builds nerfed into unplayability unless you have the best gear

How are you seeing other players casting spells? The only place you'll see people are in towns unless you're in a party with them.
>monsters started to offscreen you in Legion

I'll just go replay D2 and Grim Dawn again.... for the millionth time.
