it came out literally like a year ago, do you have the attention span of a toddler? it was a smash hit beloved by critics and fans, they'll make another eventually - probably soon.
Why can't PLA just be a one off, like LGPE? Why do Pokemon fans insist that Game Freak shit out uninspired rehashes every year instead of doing something different with the series every so often?
There's a lot of stuff they could improve about the first game but I don't want to see the formula get super stale either
There will almost definitely be a sequel judging by the naming convention though
While I liked this game, I think it'd be better for the main titles to get extra attention by combining whatever team made this and SV. Unless they announce a Wild West Unova based Legends game, then I'd go crazy for these things.
why would you let the team that made SV touch this? you want the next one to be way shittier? I think it'd be better if they lined up the SV team in front of a firing squad and executed them, or if they would commit seppuku, which they won't do because they clearly have no honor.
Because it was a boring snorefest, only reason it is popular is because of the characters and the setting. Nobody enjoys having to catch the same shitmon 25 times just for a point in the pokedex
Because it wasn't intended as such and they generally shill a rehash directly after a new core game pair. And they said they were killing rehashes for DLC, so I'm not sure why you expected anything other than DLC for '23 when they launched SV in '22.
>Announced suddenly >Dropped two months later >Dropped in the middle of March >SV would drop later that year, forcing it to compete with it's own franchise
It's a miracle it moved what it did.
I'd argue the fanbases don't really overlap for that to matter but Elden Ring sucking all the oxygen out of the room didn't help things either.
I also forgot that BDSP dropped that December as well. What a complete overlap.
yeah I'm not sure if it effected the sales that much, but it completely overshadowed this game, and they both look kinda "open world" where you can ride around on a horse thing, so if anyone was choosing between the two they most likely went with elden ring.
They are on different systems though, and have different audiences due to genre/tone/franchise. That'd explain why the games still did incredibly well despite not getting the same support that the mainline games do, it's not actually competing with Elden Ring. The people who have both a Switch to play Pokemon and system that plays Elden Ring probably also have the money to buy both anyways.
Regardless I really just want them to bring the ball throwing system over and build on the attempt to make the dex more engaging. If there was more trainers and the traditional battle system it really would have been the perfect game, though I loved what we got.
i vastly prefer PLA's battle system, much more difficult and engaging and i think it's better suited to a single player game. what exactly do you dislike about it that you want the normal battle system over it?

I didn't dislike it, but I felt like it incentivized bulky teams without much variance. My Hisuian Typhlosian was getting knocked out every battle after maybe picking up a KO cause it couldn't live getting doubled, even by neutral attacks into it. However I had a Snorlax that I trained up and it was eating double Aura Spheres from Giratina in the final battle against Volo and was asking for more. It was cool in the moment for sure, but it was leaving everything else by the way side.

i was going to say that i really enjoyed that i had to constantly be thinking on the fly like that but it occurs to me that my ace was already a gliscor and that may have skewed my perception of the issue a bit. i have the best time when i'm backed into a corner down to my last mon, but i do understand how it can get annoying too. i feel like if they do another game like that they ought to let us spend an action sending out more of our mons, i feel like that would be fair enough without making it easy. plus they could bring back earthquake, lol.
Imagine this game if it'd had another year in the oven. Sidequests were all just "show NPC this Pokemon" and the graphics looked like doo doo, yet it still btfo's gens 8 and 9. It really is the most SOVLful pokemon game we've gotten in recent years. I think it could've been a genuine cultural phenomenon if it were given the care it deserved, but it's just so lacking in content and polish.
This also seeing the village develop and change the music to be close to the modern city was nice. This game had some nice ideas but like always GF games feel like they are unfinished.
do people really do online battles in these games? it's always struck me as a super niche thing, most people i meet are playing these games single player and only occasionally trading and battling with their friends.
I'm probably the only one that think this but I think the PLA battle system could be a format in the future games just like we have double battles. If they polished it could make battles interesting.
I enjoyed most of the game but I decided not to beat it or complete the pokedex. I don't like crafting and I don't like the slog of completing a pokedex entry. Give me a mainline game where I can ninja capture pokemon with sticky globs and that will be the perfect hybrid experience for me
it does feel like they were rushing to make the game really fast, but not really in a way that it's shit, but like in a way where they know what they're doing but just rushing
yes what's taking so long they could have made 3 legends games by now
it’s only been 2 years. the fact game freak brainwashes people into thinking decent games can be made on a yearly basis is worrying
it came out literally like a year ago, do you have the attention span of a toddler? it was a smash hit beloved by critics and fans, they'll make another eventually - probably soon.
because they take more than 2 seconds to make unlike SV which was ai generated by a bot in 2 seconds
Why can't PLA just be a one off, like LGPE? Why do Pokemon fans insist that Game Freak shit out uninspired rehashes every year instead of doing something different with the series every so often?
Because PLA is the only good single player experience the series has ever provided

I would also like this but there is no financial interest
They can make two mediocre games and earn double the money

???
PLA was literally one game ago, and we’re still in SV era until next Q4 at the earliest.
People said the same about Let’s Go, but the thing is that’s not “dead” either since we’ve just not had the time to slot it in.

Elden Ring came out a few months after too
oh wait, Elden Ring came out 1 month later

Seriously. If they had given PLA an entire year to itself, it would have surpassed 20 million copies easily, maybe even 25 million.
>pop off?
Do you mean sell well, inspire other clones, or be well received?
But pokemon legends: celebi is currently in the makings and will release late this year
15 million sold is the best for any pokemon game
Hopefully they learned the error of their ways and won't make another Legends game.

Great idea
Anon Scarlet and Violet is literally the game after it. Do you really want more than one pokemon game a year? That's insane
It’s only been a little under 2 years you fricking moron
Lack of online battles.
Would have sold at least 50% more with them added.
