Why didn't GF stick with Megas?
It was the first and only cool gimmick. I fricking loved the rush from seeing my Pokemon literally go Super Saiyan along with the Sentai trainer posing.
Everything else just feels like a shitty, cringe version trying to recapture the coolness of Megas.

>Why didn't GF stick with Megas?
because it's a terrible mechanic that only exists for shilling purposes
>Low-T homosexuals detected
yes, testosterone levels are famously measured by how much people like Mega Sharpedo
As long as you're aware.
They couldn't come up with any more CHARIZARD megas, so they moved on to different gimmicks.
Dumb underage
Megashit was an eyesore and everything wrong with overdesign.
>Overdesigned!

Z - Moves: Gay
Dyna/Gigamax: Gay, AND can only be used during league battles
Tera: kek, hats
Megas: frickinig based
Because they would feel obligated to make more.
It's the only good mechanic which is why it keeps coming back in spinoffs
Too much effort, it's easier to just make a few generic moves, increase the size of a pokemon or just attach a generic crown to their heads.
Every new gen needs to have a shiny new powerup gimmick to get little Timmy to buy the new games.
Like, gee, I dunno, NEW MEGAS??
No you don't get it! We need to reinvent the wheel!
Every gimmick has been terrible. Megas just added more bloat each battle where you had the play the animation before.
Because it was broken, everyone was using one mega and then when they nerfed it everyone just jumped one rung lower on the mega totem pole. All teams were just mega+support too.
while it was definitely the best looking one, you know they would've just eventually only gave them to shillmons
hell half the ones were already given to shillmons
it was cool when it helped shitmons though
If they returned I'd like the, to be rebalanced completely
To many megas and pokemon would start looking like Digimon. Not to mention they would not only need to make new pokemon but also new megas.
It's best for the game if they don't make new metas or have some lore limit that makes it so that pokemon have to be intensively researched (ie be 3 generations old) in order to develop a working mega stone for them
They needed new gimmicks to excite the masses
Megas were too cool looking and didn't appeal for 3 year olds and their moms playing the game. They had to make Pokémon more silly with dances, hats and becoming bigger to sell to these young families.
Megas were cool but i hate that they started the (maybe a) trend of having to have a gimmick every gen.
Because it was fricking broken.
