Why didn't I like this? I just found it so boring and hard to care about anything. The entire time it felt like I got the wrong game or something. This is meant to be a 10/10 masterpiece? Granted, I didn't like FF6 either so this probably isn't for me, but man do I not get it at all.

Horrible bait but on the off chance you're serious you played 2 games out of a 15 game series. Play a different one.
>don't like a game
>bait
Also, why would I go play more games from this dogshit series. I played the two most acclaimed ones and they were both trash with only good music as a positive. Nothing else was even remotely interesting.
Everyone knows the most acclaimed FF game is 7 once again horrible bait
It's the most popular one so I've seen way more hate than love for it on here. I don't browse reddit like you so I don't care what they're saying.
The only games in FF mainline that can't be boiled down to FFVI are XIV and XV. On the off chance OP isn't being an attention-prostitute which he is then FF has nothing to offer him. He should stop wasting his time and find a game he'd actually like.
Think of it as an interactive movie. If you don't like the story you probably won't like or appreciate the interactive movie.
It's just a shounen anime but with a worse story with boring gameplay and better music. JRPGs are the subhuman underage genre and there isn't a single one with a story that can beat anything that's not a video game. The only reason you think it's good is because you're comparing it to other games only, it gets mogged incredibly hard by everything else.

Thanks for proving me right you tech illiterate zoomer
What a moronic post.
I think you're the morons. JRPGs are basically slowly paced anime with trash gameplay. There is no reason to play one, ever, unless it focuses on making turn-based fun like something like the Etrian Odyssey series does. FF doesn't at all, and therefore it is trash.
He dey shu ne, yo ho day no, dey hey shu ne, yo ho day no, sha ka ha ma La may, gu to no ha may.
I like it for the ost and world aesthetic.
>Why didn't I like this?
I'm not a mind reader, butthole. Why did you make this thread?
ive had the same experience, felt the same thing
>Didn't like VI or X
Bait or your taste is unimaginably shit
I got hooked by the story but couldn't bear the gameplay.
I'm intrigued by the story setup to this day but every time I go back to play it I drop it after another session of pressing forward for 3 minutes while being interrupted by random battles that have no right to take that long.
Just give me a novel; or a 2 season tv show, but I couldn't bear this one as a game.
music slaps tho
>look up spoilers for ffx
>it's the most over-the-top tryhard shit imaginable
You know a game like this could sell well 20 years ago when people's standards were way lower.
I didn't like this either, but I also haven't liked a single JRPG I've played apart from Persona 4 Golden. And I've tried out quite a bit - SMT4, Trails in the Sky FC, Devil Survivor, Chrono Trigger, Labyrinth of Touhou 2, I dropped all of them.
However, I realised something. I loved the beginnings of almost all of those, and I dropped them after many hours. Trails in the Sky I dropped at fricking 50 hours, Labyrinth of Touhou at 26, SMT4 at 30, etc. And I almost always got insane playtimes in just a couple of days. I think the reason I ended up disliking them anyway though is because there's no variety at all and they're too long for that to work for me. I usually stick to one game at a time, and I spend most of my free time on it, even 10-12 hours per day on weekends since I have a long attention span. I can't help but feel that most JRPG players are casuals who don't though, and they just play an hour or two, so they don't notice the repetitiveness and don't get burned out.
I have a similar problem but instead of Persona 4 it's Etrian Odyssey 3. I put over 200h into P3FES and I now dread doing a 100% SLink run even with a guide and NG+ save. I don't know why. I've also got a shit-ton of H-Games like KoEgg, Seed of Evil, BS, Sequel Blight that I'm halfway through simultaneously. Can someone give me a tip to get over my 100% compulsion or to buckle down and force myself to finish one of these games?
