DD2 runs like dogshit sometimes on most computers and I think that frustration made shit like MTX less forgivable this time despite MTX in the RE remakes being objectively scummier.

There was no reason to ever look at RE4's moronic microtransactions; you could have multiple save files going with no issue and no content was locked out.
Nobody would've noticed the shitty microtransactions in DD2 if they were able to reroll characters easily. They noticed their character had a moronic gait, or their pawn looked silly in profile, or they wanted to try a different class combination and went to make a new character. They couldn't. Fine, whatever. They went to delete their existing character, they couldn't. They went to delete their save file - it re-syned with Capcom's mandatory servers. They went to complain on the steam forum and saw the "redesign your character for $1.99!" It didn't matter the item is cheap and available in game, they were already pissed.
I don't know if it's better or worse for Capcom if some modder adds in a save manager as a mod within a week or not. It'll definitely be bad for them if people who use it start getting banned or Denuvo'd.
