Fallout 4 was such an unredeemable piece of shit that i realized bethesda will never be able to design a good single player experience despite being given the blueprints with new vegas.
I'm more pissed off that I WASTED $70 on a piece of shit I dropped in under 10 hours. What an absolutely disappointing game, it was so bad and I went into it with such high expectations. Bethesda should be ashamed. TEN years of development with Todd shilling it over and over to be some HEAVENLY GOD-LIKE game and it was trash.
Not him but this is a game that is very hard to refund because everything is very slow so it takes hours and hours to realize the carrot on that stick is actually rotten and there's a photo of someone flipping the bird attached to it.
I admittedly played it for a lot longer than I expected because I'm a bit of an autist. I put about 40 hours into it until I finished all of the factions and basically the entire main story.
It's fricking terrible. It has the best models and animations (main characters only, everyone else looks like trash) of any bethesda game and a nice lighting engine. Literally everything else is terrible. I got it on gamepass so I don't care much
Haven't checked mods since around release but by default, not really.
The "junkiest" look you can get is janky space trucker. Although painting things red and black tends to make anything look menacing.
After Fallout 4 I've refused to buy any Bethesda game unless they start using a new engine. From what I've heard this was a smart decision. If TES VI doesn't use a new fricking engine I am not going to even so much as pirate it, it's going to be fricking ass because the limitations of the engine are starting to seriously rub up against the expectations of the modern day. Shit was barely even excusable when Skyrim came out, it's 13 years later and other games are just shitting all over it now.
>it's not even the same engine
until a recent patch, you had to edit the exact same .ini file with the exact same line to change the field of view. all the console commands are exactly the same. it uses the exact same hexadecimal based plugin system. special effects for weapons and armor are still called "enchantments" internally. all food, drink, and medical items are still called ALCH (Alchemy) items internally. all existing status effects are still called Magic Effects internally. the item codes for gold (credits), lockpicks (digipiks) and the player character are all exactly the same as previous games (f, a, and 14, respectively). player collision is still exactly the same regardless of current height (crouching/sliding does not let you move under objects). the game relies on the player using the console to address bugs and fix progression issues in exactly the same fashion as previous games.
it is, fundamentally, the same exact slop shit engine that's been used in fallout 76, fallout 4, skyrim, fallout new vegas, oblivion, fallout 3, and morrowind. it doesnt matter how much paint they pour on it or how much they "polish" it, even they are aware it's the same engine, and they'll continue to puppeteer it's corpse for as long as it's financially viable to do so.
I bought it, I played it, I enjoyed it.
With that said, it could’ve been executed a lot better, there’s a lot of emphasis on the Greek alphabet and 24 of everything, even the alpha stage of the game was intended to comprise of only 24 systems instead of the 100 we see in the released version. Limiting the scope would’ve made it phenomenal.
I have no doubt that the 2nd installation will do the Starfield world justice.
Honest and unironic is that Bethesda knows the game is a flop, but even if you want to argue that it isn't the simple fact is that Bethesda even planned to make a sequel, that would eventually only get made after the Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5. You know when the last Elder Scrolls game was released? 2011. It's been 13 years since the last Elder Scrolls game, and it's still not even out. Bethesda's development time has only gotten longer. Prepare to wait AT LEAST two decades for another Starfield title. lol
they might if it actually redeems and they fix loads of shit in the story and other elements, but because of the huge negative reception, it is unlikely
they promised a dlc as part of a preorder, they might even just drop dev time after that tbh
>dev budget rumored to be over $400 million (this does not include advertising budget) >phil spencer wanted (needed) this to be the next skyrim >bethesdas development systems are archaic and they work at glacial speeds >public sentiment of this game is mixed/negative >nobody playing, modding, or talking about the game. no fan art, memes or moments captured from the game
its a flop so boring that people arent even excited to shit on it. microsoft will not allow them to make another one even if they wanted to.
They were so desperate for sales on steam that they had 2 sales, with 2 different percentages, on 2 different weeks. First was 20% off and the next week was 30% off. No AAA title has EVER done this. Ever. Especially at release. You will never find a game, that had a budget over 400m + dollars that went for sale twice after release. They panicked and didn't make their money back at all. There are AAA titles that haven't gone on sale for maybe 8 years in Microsofts and Sonys library.
starefield was a flop. Nobody talks about it, nobody plays it and nobody really cares. it won't get a sequel. They'll just hush it away slowly.
Limiting the scope would’ve solved nothing. Judging by the absurdly low quality of procedural generation - I’m willing to be a lot of money that the decision to include a thousand planets came late into development, when they realized that making even a single planet by hand would be an insane task, so they put together a primitive generation algorithm and shat out a thousand generic “planets”. All you would’ve gotten with a smaller galaxy size is a lesser number of equally generic planets.
I did buy it, but I refunded it when I tried to launch it and it popped up with a window that said "Your computer isn't powerful enough to run Starfield!" and then crashed the game.
I'm not paying that much for a game, especially when it will 100% go on sale for 50% off at some point. Same reason I haven't bought Baldur's Gate 3 -- no vidya is possibly worth that price, not when I've got my backlog to go through
I played Oblivion like twenty years ago, from what I've seen every one of their games since then has been roughly the same shit. I don't buy every shitty Pokemon rehash and I'm not buying every one of Todd's shitty rehashes either.
Pc not good enough and I have an xbox one. Not series s or x. Besides I heard it sucked and saw all the glitches so I'm never playing it. Skyrim was my breaking point. I just want to do a quest and not be interupted by other questgivers. I feel like I can't go to any location without beong bombarded by sidecontent. It's bullshit. Let me do my gay nord bullshit in peace
Microsoft was trying really fricking hard to get me to play the game on Gamepass. For awhile, I was getting notifications and asked to play literally every day.
Nah lol
Never installed, never played, never scammed. I've never used gamepass for for anything but that's not the point. i just feel deeply satisfied to see starslop fail.
Because Microshit bought it.
Also, Bethesda just vomits the same shit formula with the same outdated engine. I have HUNDREDS of games worth more than that in my library/wishlist/installed.
quite frankly i could still wait for another 5-10 years even if they do release the modding tools just so they would stop updating the game and mods get good.
I bought it
I have regretted my purchase
Maybe I'll check it out after the modding scene has had their fun
Although I doubt there will even be a modding scene, game is fricking TRASH with the exception of the corpo questline, that's the good shit right there
I am not a moran.
>moran
be on the look out for things that make you laugh. If you see nothing worth laughing at, pretend you see it, then laugh
It came with my CPU for free
It's a shit game btw
Same. I didn't even realize it until I got a redemption code from Amazon. I redeemed on steam and played it for an hour and never touched it again.
no ssd
Watched some vids of it, realized it was dog shit.
Played on gamepass. One of the biggest bullets i dodged. I would be mad as hell spending $70 on that turd.
Fallout 4 was such an unredeemable piece of shit that i realized bethesda will never be able to design a good single player experience despite being given the blueprints with new vegas.
>tfw starting to feel nostalgic for fallout 4
I'm more pissed off that I WASTED $70 on a piece of shit I dropped in under 10 hours. What an absolutely disappointing game, it was so bad and I went into it with such high expectations. why didnt you refund it?
Not him but this is a game that is very hard to refund because everything is very slow so it takes hours and hours to realize the carrot on that stick is actually rotten and there's a photo of someone flipping the bird attached to it.
>request refund because game is buggy and not operational anymore on your PC
>if denied then just have your bank reverse the charge
I always wait for games to go on sale unless I really really want to play it at release. But I might not even touch Starfield now.
i like to unga bunga melee in bethesda games. this game has a pathetic selection of unga bunga tools
Melee is purely for stealth too bad stealth is fricking garbage in this game
It's woke, written like shit (and even your shit choices dont matter), mostly barren and full of loadings.
I did, it was mediocre
I jumped the gun on buying Fallout 4 with the DLC included shorty after launch and then ended up not playing it much.
Because I am not from India.
expensive
Because I don't enjoy Bethesda games. I dropped both Skyrim and Fallout 3 after about an hour each.
Why would you buy single player games
I got it for free with my GPU and put over 100 hours into it
Cause I played it on Gamepass long enough to know it's terrible.
I did.
I typically don't like Bethesda games.
Sorry.
I got it on gamepass so I don't care much
Random question: can I add spikes and blades and scrapmetal all over my space ship so it looks like a space pirate or junk raider?
Haven't checked mods since around release but by default, not really.
The "junkiest" look you can get is janky space trucker. Although painting things red and black tends to make anything look menacing.
no, you cannot have fun or express any sort of personality in this "role playing" experience.
After Fallout 4 I've refused to buy any Bethesda game unless they start using a new engine. From what I've heard this was a smart decision. Pretty sure Bethesda will use that piece of shit engine until Microsoft gets their head out of their ass and slaps it out of Todd’s hands.
It’s not even the same engine bro, try spawning fifty items via console in each Bethesda game from Oblivion to Starfield, you’ll see the difference.
>it's not even the same engine

I did, it was better ME2 than ME2.
i did and i got my moneys worth, 230 hours of fun, looking forward to the fixes, expansion and new content theyll add
I bought it, I played it, I enjoyed it.

What makes you think we won’t? No troglodyte non-answers, please.

I've heard she aged like cheese
>she
every body builder does. they flower for a year and then fall disintegrate as they desperately chase their momentary beauty
Once they frick over their endocrine system with PEDs they can never go back

I did, the game got better after a while, once I integrated everything.
Also, this dude just fell from the sky and died on the spot, has this ever happened to anyone?
Bethesda doesn't deserve a single cent from me
i did and i regret it because i can't get a refund now
reverse the charge with your bank if you bought it recently
I did buy it, but I refunded it when I tried to launch it and it popped up with a window that said "Your computer isn't powerful enough to run Starfield!" and then crashed the game.

>Daily reminder that this game was advertised as a “return to form” serious RPG
It’s either the most cynical cash-grab of the decade or the best example of Bethesda’s incompetence yet.
James Stephanie Sterling told me not to.
I played Oblivion like twenty years ago, from what I've seen every one of their games since then has been roughly the same shit. I don't buy every shitty Pokemon rehash and I'm not buying every one of Todd's shitty rehashes either.
Bethesda forgot that mods/dlc are there to increase a game’s lifespan, not compensate for its flaws.
Also writing/story has just been goddamn unacceptably awful.
I did
it sucks
Because I tried Fallout 3, 4, NV, 76, Oblivion and Skyrim and thought they were all terrible. This is because I have good taste in video games.
its surprising that someone with such a shit and boring taste in vidya cant enjoy bethesda slop.
I bet you don't even like Chaos Legion.
never heard of it and dont care to learn anything about it
>destiny 2
Good fricking grief do zoomers really?
I am 37 years old, but my mother was pregnant with me when Chernobyl went poof.
>that 37 year old boomer with a club foot
Yea I suppose that explains the moronation then. Carry on
Because it's free.
Bethesda RPG.
I've played Fallout 4 and Skyrim, so there is no need to play anything else Bethesda makes.
There is zero reason to buy bethesda trash, and that one doesnt even have sex mods ffs
It's bullshit. gamepass
game looked gay and i was right
I caught on to every game of yours being a glorified Oblivion remake as early as Skyrim, Todd.
And I didn't like Oblivion all that much.
i did, i put 325+ hours into it on the series s, 100% percent it, ng+ it 10 times got max powers, got all achievements. waiting on expansion.
Because Microshit bought it.
Also, Bethesda just vomits the same shit formula with the same outdated engine. I have HUNDREDS of games worth more than that in my library/wishlist/installed.
Cyberpunk already added furry mods.
Why would I?
i will buy it once they release modding tools for the game.
I'll buy it when they make it a GOOD game. So probably never.
quite frankly i could still wait for another 5-10 years even if they do release the modding tools just so they would stop updating the game and mods get good.
It's ugly and shit and I hate bethesda.
I bought it
I have regretted my purchase
Maybe I'll check it out after the modding scene has had their fun
Although I doubt there will even be a modding scene, game is fricking TRASH with the exception of the corpo questline, that's the good shit right there
