>get a slideshow as if you've been buddies for years >in reality you met like 10 minutes ago >dude dies >including rain and sad music and shit >you're somehow supposed to care about it
His death would have had more impact if I could have actually saved him the way I could save Goro Takemura later into the game since you actually spend a decent amount of time with Goro and get to see him not as the arasaka goon he is at the end of the day but as kind of a lovable old fish out of water oaf that happens to be stuck with a shitty job, however with Jackie get basically like 10 minutes with him and the time V and him spend together is a fricking montage, undoubtedly a symptom of Cyberpunk's troubled development. Also,
>show his death a year and a half before the game comes out >say it doesn't matter because you were just shown one of the results of your actions >final game comes out >no, he just fricking dies right there and then >and T-Bug dies even earlier in a phone conversation so abrupt you might straight up miss she's supposed to be killed there and not just disconnected from the call >even though in the trailer she survived to appear in the motel >and even though people datamined lines of dialogue showing she was in fact supposed to survive into the motel and also had a sister and you could've spoken to her engram inside Mikoshi at the end of the game
What a game
is right they basically spoiled his death ahead of time, we knew it was coming.
I wish there was some kind of option/opportunity to turn Goro away from Arasaka, feels like after the stakeout mission its made clear that he's got some clear misgivings about how Arasaka works despite what he tells himself + is outright just kind of uninformed/naïve in regards to how deep the damage by Arasaka goes in the world.
I can guess (I.E. Source: my ass basically, so take it with a grain of salt) that there probably was at one point but like so many other things it went on the chopping block. Just seems too logical of a potential plot thread to just leave out, but that probably went the way of the dodo once CP2077 stopped being an actual RPG somewhere along the way in development and more of a regular open world game with different ways to say "yes" to people like fallout 4.
I was so pissed when I went the whole game using non lethal stuff and Johnny still berated me for "liking killing as much as he does" at one point, like what's even the point of non lethal then? Though, it could have just been one of cyberpunk's many, many bugs.
if you choose the most logical option ( send it to the cyborg surgeon) you cuck yourself of his pres f quest and a nice unique pistol and he got holoresurrected as an ai npc
> hide the corpse > not disrespect
the mom knew it was coming, its made pretty clear before jackie even died that she was expecting this, given that so many other 'welles boys' were killed over this same shit.
at least if you give her her sons body she can have a proper funeral.
Different anon, but my logic was clear: the Emperor -the dude that might as well be the owner of the city- is dead and they think WE did it. Being anywhere near the streets at that point in time was a death sentence. Vik's clinic was closer to the motel than Heywood, less chances of the car with Jackie's corpse being stopped and found (because they sure as shit saw we left Konpeki in an armored Delamain). Plus the lesser reason of not wanting to show a mother her last son's bullet-riddled before presenting it a little. But the main reason I chose the clinic was that, having a car driving around half the city while everyone was looking for it was moronic. But hey, turns out joke's on me; they somehow find Vik, they don't kill him or torture him or take him prisoner, and they don't find neither V nor Takemura nor do they ever come back to his clinic afterwards once Yorinobu knows his assassin cyborgs failed at the junkyard.
>show his death a year and a half before the game comes out >say it doesn't matter because you were just shown one of the results of your actions >final game comes out >no, he just fricking dies right there and then >and T-Bug dies even earlier in a phone conversation so abrupt you might straight up miss she's supposed to be killed there and not just disconnected from the call >even though in the trailer she survived to appear in the motel >and even though people datamined lines of dialogue showing she was in fact supposed to survive into the motel and also had a sister and you could've spoken to her engram inside Mikoshi at the end of the game
What a game
To make it funnier, I have the limited edition guidebook and in the main character section it doesn't even have panam, saul or judy or the characters that stick around. Instead it has tbug, dexter and people that die early as if they were important.
Still a good game though, I had my 90 hours of fun Jackie was based and so was Neo, I mean Ted. No wait, Harker? John. John Wick.
>I had my 90 hours of fun
Same, and I really enjoyed my 90 or so hours in the game. Great deal at a discount, it completed absorbed me for a while. Can't ask for much more than that
It absolutely hit me right in the feels when Jackie bit it in the car. I know it hit many others too. He was legitimately incredibly likeable, probably the best character in the game.
Jackie worked for me as a character, kind of reminded me of a guy I know. I liked him and it made me sad he died.
The wake and the depressed girlfriend and the "'pls take his bike I'd want you to have it" shit was still too much.
Never underestimate how much of a hateboner people have for CP2077 on Ganker because they came so hard when it had a rocky launch after they'd been saying it was gonna suck for a year up to release.

Which shouldn't be a surprise for anyone. It's basically Witcher 3: cyberpunk edition.
It always looked to me that Ganker has some weird conception and unconditional love for Witcher 3, and tons of fanboys, but Witcher 3 is a genuinely mediocre RPG. Some great main quests, excellent interpersonal relationships in its quests. Excellent cutscenes. Gameplay is horrendous, open world is empty, the RPG mechanics are unusable, its cities are both full of randos you can't talk to and empty of anything else, loot system is an abomination. It's a barely playable game at time. Not barely playable because it is buggy (but it is), but barely playable because I couldn't be bothered to play it anymore.
So congrats. You've got Cyberpunk: The Witchering. Empty city full of people you can't interact with, some great characters, some good main quests, mechanics are stupid and unusable, RPG elements are crap. That's literally what you wanted.
Eh, the speeches at the wake didn't really get me but I liked going around Jackies garage with Misty, especially when she finds the little shitty sand mandala that he'd been working on in the side room, felt emotional without being over the top.
but it's a cool bike man; it's also the only vehicle worth driving in this fricking game because it's fast, gets you around traffic, and doesn't suck at turning.
Remember how it was hyped that this guy would be like your street companion who gives you alternate routes on every quest. And it happened like once and not really
The game was about Keanu from the start. Go watch the first reveal background npcs talk about Johnny Silverhand all the time in it. Thinking Johnny wasn't the main plot point of it was a huge COPE considering even the original reveal ties to his 2023 bombing of arasaka adventure from cyberpunk 2020.
>Go watch the first reveal background npcs talk about Johnny Silverhand all the time in it
Yeah and he died of old age in 2076 instead of becoming an engram in 2023, so how do you explain that
It's called nanobots, something that existed in Cyberpunk in 2020 already. He;; the character sheet for Saburo Arasaka stated he has medical nanobots as his cyberware. That was in 2020.
The only reason the Relic brought V back was because it was damaged when V is shot in the head. Jackie would've died regardless of if he still had the Relic.
> The only reason the Relic brought V back was because it was damaged when V is shot in the head.
when is that established? all I remember being said about it is that it activates upon the death of the body
2 years ago
Anonymous
> A precondition of activating the RELIC 2.0 is the ceasing of the host's vital functions (brain death, cardiac arrest). Only complete and irreversible shutdown of neural activity can allow the engram to root itself and take over the body (i.e. reboot). Clinical trials using subjects on the verge of biological death have proven unsuccessful in activating the RELIC 2.0's basic functionality.
The Relic had been tested on people with life threatening injuries and each time it failed to activate. Same with already dead corpses. The chip in his brain can't do shit about his liver that was blown apart. It only saved V because it rewrote and replaced his brain with nano tech, and V's brain was damaged. Any other method of killing and V would never have left the landfill.
And even then, *if* we say you're right, the only reason V's personality remains is precisely because he was shot in the brain. Leave the Relic with Jackie, and his injury would've meant Silverhand would've taken over completely instantly. Either way Jackie was fricked, Dex's shitty pistol and aiming at the head is what allows the game to happen at all.
> A precondition of activating the RELIC 2.0 is the ceasing of the host's vital functions (brain death, cardiac arrest). The game we got started development in 2016 and nothing substantial was done by 2018, the gameplay demo was entirely faked. AND we know they only got Keanu aboard after E3 2018.
How badly did they 180 the direction of the game when Keanu Chungus got on board? And how late in development was it? I feel like Jackie was intended to have a much more central role, and the part where you build up your reputation was supposed to be an Act 1 but they scrapped it.
The gear system straight up ruins the game. I can't play dress up because the shit you wear gets outdated in like 4 fights. Uhhh sorry bro your shotgun is 2 levels to low, it won't do any damage. No shops don't sell better weapons why aren't you crafting you like to craft right? None of the cyberware even matters outside of the improved jump and weapon implants
That's not true. Mods are mostly what makes gear worth a shit. You don't need to toss a shotgun that has a great mod on it because you found a new shotgun that does 1 point extra dps. That's just stupid.
cuz it was scripted for you to die dumbass
Because we paid Keanu a shit ton of money to be in this game and your story is irrelevant Jackie.

He died because he removed the relic. Jackie dies right after the fall you can see his eyes rebooting from the relic i.e he died.
yeah and the relic can frick the dna and become a terminal cancer sure
It's called nanobots, something that existed in Cyberpunk in 2020 already. He;; the character sheet for Saburo Arasaka stated he has medical nanobots as his cyberware. That was in 2020.
>speedreader
The Relic only activates for V because he was shot in the brain. Jackie was bleeding his guts out.
The relic activates on patient death. The guy that designed LITERALLY tells you this.
Only complete and irreversible shutdown of neural activity can allow the engram to root itself and take over the body (i.e. reboot). Clinical trials using subjects on the verge of biological death have proven unsuccessful in activating the RELIC 2.0's basic functionality.
No, the Doc literally says Dex used a low caliber bullet, that allowed V to survive and the Relic to kick in the repair functions.
>The guy that designed LITERALLY tells you this
Don't you remember Hellman being surprised as frick that the Relic worked? He's amazed V is walking and talking with the Relic activated.
>show his death a year and a half before the game comes out
>say it doesn't matter because you were just shown one of the results of your actions
>final game comes out
>no, he just fricking dies right there and then
>and T-Bug dies even earlier in a phone conversation so abrupt you might straight up miss she's supposed to be killed there and not just disconnected from the call
>even though in the trailer she survived to appear in the motel
>and even though people datamined lines of dialogue showing she was in fact supposed to survive into the motel and also had a sister and you could've spoken to her engram inside Mikoshi at the end of the game
What a game
>mfw I kept going with the main story for a while, heard about the heist and thought it would be the first mission of quite a few with the same people, to get you familiar with them
>So I did very little side shit before then
>I spent basically zero time with Jackie
>Expected to give a shit and attend his funeral with long drawn out dialogs when he died
why are you so late? party is over.
Don't care I'm still buying Cyberpunk 2077
V literally got it temporally removed after first keanu confrontation and survived ,keep coping with lore bullshit
>omg the story changed while it was in development for 9 years this is impossible
The game we got started development in 2016 and nothing substantial was done by 2018, the gameplay demo was entirely faked. AND we know they only got Keanu aboard after E3 2018.
For being Hispanic Jackie looked Slavic as shit
Maybe a mix, it is the future after all
it was in the script, Jackie
Every other line out of your mouth was a massive deathflag, I don't know what you want me to do
You're a dumbass Hispanic and a low life thief that the game forced on me, I didn't like you since the start
Same reason I couldn't use a phoenix down to save Aerith.
Shit larp, what he'd really say is:
>"Ay pendejo, why you dont save me eh? *Puta madre*....
How badly did they 180 the direction of the game when Keanu Chungus got on board? And how late in development was it? I feel like Jackie was intended to have a much more central role, and the part where you build up your reputation was supposed to be an Act 1 but they scrapped it.
F to my bro
>Most hyped game ever
>Ends up being a buggy mess
>Turns out CD Projekt Red hired the dev team that made Mass Effect Andromeda
There are multiple blatant lies in this thread. Can you figure out which ones?
The gear system straight up ruins the game. I can't play dress up because the shit you wear gets outdated in like 4 fights. Uhhh sorry bro your shotgun is 2 levels to low, it won't do any damage. No shops don't sell better weapons why aren't you crafting you like to craft right? None of the cyberware even matters outside of the improved jump and weapon implants
That's not true. Mods are mostly what makes gear worth a shit. You don't need to toss a shotgun that has a great mod on it because you found a new shotgun that does 1 point extra dps. That's just stupid.
to frick your girlfriend
