What type of men does she like?
Rich men.
Asian.
Small wiener.
Yes
Creativity is dead. Why do you think they did a remake of a beloved game in the first place?
Pretty sure its cause hiring actors to star in your game makes you feel like your directing a "real Hollywood movie"
>Is designing an original person really that costly and time consuming in the grand scheme?
With current level of fidelity? Yes.
Face scanning and motion capture are cheaper and faster.
Because you can write top tier pussy off as a business expense, next question.
That prostitute is a race traitor.
That's extra work on top of modelling and scanning in a human face as a template
if that face can act then you're saving yourself the trouble of cobbling together an entire character out of bits and pieces
It depends. AA and indie no, but AAA yes because they are all about muh graphix. The point is, they dont need to go overboard like CDPR did with cyberpunk, but they need to be accurate with their scans.
Capcom and Kojima do it right. They hire from B listers to literally whos with good looks, and make a game with them. That way companies dont have to spend an insane amount of money to hire them(I think kojimbo had to pay up tho) and these literally who models also get the necessary clout to keep their "career" going. Everybody wins.
are you thinking of david cage? his biggest star was ellen page (let's not have that argument right now) and went back to C-listers for detroit
kojima had a taste of hollywood with MGSV and went back for death stranding
I wasnt particularly thinking of anyone when I posted this, but hiring Ellen Page and Dafoe for a game, was a bit of an overkill back then.
For me, everyone should follow Capcom's example. Hire nobodies that fit the bill and be done with it.
Kojima is an exception since he has always been a Hollywood worshiper, and working with hollywood actors was his dream.
Actually come to think of it, what was the last AAA game that had humans that weren't face models? Just the Naughty Dog games?
It has to do with time and efficiency. Arcane, the show, has pretty convincing facial animations and movements. It also took 6 fricking years to do it all by hand. By contrast it took 4 years to make Last of Us with actual actors. And just for contexts sake, only one of those has do look convincing when controlled by a player versus the other being a prerendered show.
No artist wants to go through the hell it takes to get all of the little movements and details that realistic expressions have so they don't. I mean would most players even appreciate it if they did?
Because they are convinced that if they stick in real life people/celebrities/"influncers" into the video games, that normies will buy it in droves. Not only that but they also REALLY think it makes them look more "mature". Like Hollywood.
probably to keep a design consistent so you aren't constantly redesigning them
Its more of an inmersion thing actually, some of them are trying to catch that
>cute neighbour you had a crush on
vibe, others just want more realistic npc's, fricking valve nailed this back in HL2.
Them just using famous people is just a bonus.
+ it helps them to design them more easily since they already got a base to work with instead of creating something from scracth.
I think it’s because the technology is good enough where if it is t scanned it can be easy to get an uncanny valley look if just “sculpting” from scratch. Sure it dosent have to be a famous person but it’s the same logic as movies, big names get attention
>Is designing an original person really that costly and time consuming in the grand scheme?
no they're just lazy, incompetent or marketing thinks that slapping some """celeb""" on a game will make it sell better (it doesnt)
Because devs want an excuse to hire a bunny
after decades of shitting on us, hollyjewwood wants to take over videogames
>heckin wholesome keanuchungus
actors likeness/VA is the only inroad they have
Facescanning is literally the biggest threat to video games.
It's taking the art out of video games and replacing them with "realistic" people to make normies more comfortable.
Games should look like this.
I agree, but it doesn't make normalgays more comfortable (just the ugly women devs that forced their way into the industry.) I'm the only nerd in my friend group of 30somethings, they notice just how often ugly women are being thrown at them in Western media. They laugh it off, it's not enough of a turn off yet to get them to not consume product.
probably because it looks better and it's easier. a model done by hand wouldn't have small asymmetries in the face or other small details and it would look uncanny.
Because Capcom uses photogrammetry and it speeds the process.
Also gives me both a virtual and a real bawd to fap to
