It was good in the sense that it was a 10/10 game that was about 60% finished. I hope the Phantom Liberty overhaul is substantial enough to flesh out the game but there will still be some missing stuff.
Like how we meet Wakaka and she exists physically in the game and has quests, etc. I feel like that shit should have been extended for all of the fixers and was just patched up at the end with phonecalls & "buy this car" missions.
I think faction rep would be a nice touch to the game, creating dynamic shootouts/police interactions with gangs while you're in the middle of something else. Would have added another dimension to the experience and given more opportunity for story and worldbuilding. They introduced that stuff themselves at E3; it was a good idea then and is a good idea now.
I played 20 hours recently but struggling to pick it back up and finish the main quest. I had fun but it gets really repetitive, the combat is easy and I already have all weapons and steamroll everything.
I wish there weren't so many moments where you just wait for npcs to finish talking or you get railroaded on a section where you can't do anything but watch things happen.
Making a game like this "cinematic" is such wasted potential, you never feel like you're roleplaying as a mercenary in the future, you're just playing a movie.

They backpedaled from holding CDPR responsible because they paid for a mediocre anime to be made. Now all their sins are forgiven.
They forgot all about Todd's lies, and now he's also forgiven. Even though ESO, 76 and Fallout 4 are objectively bad games, for some reason people are willing to believe Starfield won't suck. Why?
I've never played fallout 4 but my friend says it's good. Plus I really enjoyed Oblivion and Skyrim.
What's been shown off + my history with their games is enough for me to check this out.
My brother in christ, F4 WAS bad but absolutely nowhere near the levels of 76 or ESO on release. In actual fact it was just as bad of a Fallout game as 3, it just had improved gameplay. Neither were bad games, just bad entries in the series. ESO AND 76 are plain awful, objectively terrible games of ANY franchise or genre. On release, both could BARELY categorize as instanced MMOs, had 0 content, and were a glorified CO-OP mode. You are fricking delusional.
F3 was bad, but it was ok because it was their first try.
Skyrim was bad, but normalhomosexuals love it.
The thing is F4, 76 and ESO are accepted even amongst normalhomosexuals as bad, that's why I mentioned them.
tbqh I don't think that's the case, and I expect a F4 remaster after Starfield, maybe F3 first, but the Skyrim re-release treatment is coming, F4 was a commercial success and still sells copies every steam sale, whereas all my norman friends bounced off of F76 and ESO. MMOs, even casual ones, are not normie bait these days.

I dont get what these threads are about? I get you are lamenting that gaming is "great" anymore. And Id probably tend to agree. But its as if you think there is not one single game you buy (or pirate) to play and enjoy in the how many years youve been playing? Gaming is never going to go back to what you want and youll also probably never get the exact kind of games you want again either.
Which is to say, there is no problem in 1. Giving up the hobby entirely and doing other shit or 2. Actually try and enjoy the new games that come out in the genres you play instead of just being a cynical whiny c**t all day long or 3. Play and replay your favorites and check out older games you didnt play and enjoy those.
I hate all the troony shit that gets pushed these days too, and the other garbage, but you can ignore most of it entirely. Theres nothing stopping you from trying these new games and seeing what theyre like. I think way too many of you are stuck in the meme of old good new bad and you are actually incapable of seeing otherwise
