Shut the frick up, Black person. No it fricking didn't. Did it magically become the game we were promised all these years ago? No? No it fricking didn't. That's right. It's still the same shitty shooter that doesn't compare AT ALL to what CD Projekt were promising. All they did was fix a couple bugs, pay trigger to make a mid anime, then pump marketing money into an astroturfing campaign about how Cyberpunk is "good" now and totally redeemed itself. They're even trying to brainwash people into thinking the game didn't have a shitty launch, which will work because none of the new audience will ever play the game how it was day 1.
Frick these Black folk and their redditor simps. I hope your precious DLC comes out in a completely buggy, broken state so that everyone gets reminded that they're dealing with CD Projekt and Cyberspunk.

      Cringe

Cyberpunk was and is genuinely good despite not being exactly what was originally planned for the game. The scope was too big for what they wanted to do obviously and suits forced them to release it early. Regardless, what they were able to do was good, impressive, and still an enjoyable experience. I ran into zero bugs playing the launch version of the game, not to say that there weren't any, but it was more of a stable experience than any Bethesda game has been, which people seem to love here so I don't get the hate for Cyberpunk.

Why did they pick such a boring theme for the expansion? Instead of letting us go to the fricking space casino being shilled and hyped the whole game, they make a DLC about spies?

except corporate espionage was an element in the book neuromancer, and every shadowrun that involves hacking corps is literally corporate espionage. the stylistic buzzword you are too blind to see is "punk," oedipus.

also spy themes don't exclude noir:

like recently we did a campaign that was geared towards lead generation, where we got many thousands of people to give us their email address. this is like the most expensive thing you can do with something like Meta, and even this was 25 grand of spend for 1 million advert views across 4 million people. If it was actually optimised to justshow ads (and not get people to fill in forms) then it would have been more like 10 million views across tens of millions of people for the same money

I'm generally of two minds here. On the one hand, I actually really ended up liking CP2077 once I finally got around to playing it. But it's also nowhere near the game we were promised, and I'll never forgive CDPR for all the bullshit they pulled in the lead-up to release. All the gaslighting now is pretty gross, too. The game absolutely DID release broken as frick and all the hate was fully justified. I'll probably end up playing Phantom Liberty at some point but only if I get it on a deep discount like I did with the base game. It's an interesting enough world to revisit but it sucks knowing how much better it *could* have been if the final product actually matched what they were hyping it up to be

It's honestly an okay game. Just feels very incomplete with an open world that is mainly just for show with no content behind it. If they fixed this it would be a flawed but otherwise pretty good game. I feel something must have happened behind the scenes for such a mismanaged project to have come out

I'm just waiting for the overhall that's what I'm actually interested in. I want to do one more playthrough after they """fix""" the systems and then lay this disappointment to rest. They're claiming brand new customization systems and skill trees that actually make sense and work unlike now where there's literally a bunch of perks that don't do anything because they were made for systems and play styles that got cut.

Police chases and shootouts in GTA are fun as frick. Hiding in a building then shooting waves upon waves of cops or being chased by the police are some of the best experiences you can have. CP's police don't chase you in a car and them respawning in your back feels absolute bullshit. There is no fun or difficulty to be had fighting them.

The enemy AI in DXHR was so stupid that you could kill everyone with a silenced pistol without ever getting detected by timing their head movement so you always hit the back of their head. But I agree that DXHR runs circles around CP77 gameplay-wise and a stealth-run on max difficulty had a nice difficulty curve for the majority of the game.

lol have you even played HR? The pistol gets an armor penetration upgrade that lets you just 1tap headshot pretty much all humanoid enemies for the rest of the game, even the armored ones. It invalidates all other weapons and makes the game really boring for the most part.

The atmosphere in DXHR was way more immersive than CP77 tho. The world felt more alive as the NPCs that stand around had their own voiced script. In CP77, most NPCs are generic/generated using a pool of canned responses that repeat so often that it breaks my immersion. Also, you could punch all NPCs mid sentence if they were rude to you which was hilarious. I was pretty mad they cut that out of HRMD, as it was a crucial part of me role-playing a grumpy ex-cop that was freshly out of fricks to give.

The tiny hub levels allowed the devs to make AI that actually flanks you and behaves somewhat non-moronic, as the AI can navigate the map. In CP77, just approach a mob to aggro them and walk away. They won't hunt you down after getting shot at by you and just return to their spawn points. This combined with the large, open maps make it a trivial task to pick them off from the edge of their vision distance.

thing is it will never be ''worth'' playing unless they would redo the whole fricking game and add the promised features, if you can stomach mediocrity the game then be my guest but as it stands it isn't worth it.

My main gripe with this game is the balancing of weapons / skills. As soon as you're able to craft the sniper rifle, there is no reason to use another weapon besides role-playing and getting bored of one-shotting almost everything. Good shooters make sniper rifles cumbersome to use in CQB, but in CP77 you can circumvent long reload times by just rotating between 3 sniper rifles and reload between encounters. Plus, enemy AI can't leave their spawn-point, so you almost never get flanked and can pick enemies off one-by-one with no skill involved whatsoever.
I played through this game on day one and then after every major update to see the progression of development, but it's still pretty much a walking simulator with moronic enemy AI. It's really pretty tho. So in short, it's the equivalent of a bimbo with huge bolt-on breasts that is fun to throw around when crossfaded and should be avoided when sober.

        Anonymous

Anon... I'm sorry to break it to you but you can make every weapon type stupidly overpowered in this game. Frick, you don't even need weapons at all, every encounter can be cleared by having contagion/short circuit/suicide equipped.

Because I love her, but honestly couldn’t romance her as I still play a female V. I’ll touch her boobs eventually.

i respect that the romances in 2077 aren't player-sexual. it works in this case for me since I romanced panam as male v. I tried playing femV since I usually play gril characters but femV's voice actress is way too annoying to listen to, so try hard that it was painful.

I didn’t like it either at first but for some reason now I love female V’s voice. She’s a cute and she has a cute taste in other girls.

I'm turning 19 next month and I can't see how anyone would see Cyberpunk 2077 as anything other than missed potential. It reminds me a lot of how my dad described Fable's launch back on the xbox, thing was being marketed as something that was going to change video games forever, failed at it, but a lot of people were simps to the brand and refused to admit they were played.

I guess large number of ''gamers'' simply don't take the time to even properly think for themselves or about the game they're gonna buy, not paying attention to recent events surrounding it or just don't care because they have too much resources for their own good but yes some people also try to cope with their bad purchase by gaslighting themselves into believing its good ''now''

I'm not sure how you are construing "missed potential" but I am certain it's not what I meant by it. Like other anons have said already the game had a very buggy launch and what they were promising is not what the delivered on, yet a lot of people are defending this game/company like a simp would his favorite egirl, which is why in some parts it reminds me of how my dad and his friends talk about Fable.

We known. And everything normies consider "great" is fricking garbage, especially since they have zero actual interest in any media - they just jump at whatever goes viral and "obsess" over it to feel part of a group, then once it's not cool anymore they quietly move on to something else.

Most people who aren't a: consoletards or b: e-celeb wienersuckers and trend riders, enjoyed the game. And CDPR has a track record of making DLC significantly better than the main game, even without the current redemption they're desperately trying to chase.

It will unironically probably be better that Starfield, which is probably going to blindside a lot of people expecting something like Baldur's Gate 3 when they're actually going to get dumbed down Fallout 4.

If you want another meme cyberpunk launch, look at Starfield. Bet you anything it'll be a disaster, people always forget how fricking unplayable Bethesda games are at launch.

Blood and Wine was 10x better than base Witcher 3. And yes, CDPR could've just abandoned Cyberpunk and work on Witcher 4 to try and save face but they didn't, they've been working on the game to this day and updating it.

I think this DLC will be even better since half the point of it is to rework most of the game's base systems. So even without the new story and content, it'd still be great.

Gamers have turned into mindless consumers, they'll literally buy anything if you hype it up enough, regardless of quality. Original release of CP2077, Fallout 76, Diablo 4, Elden Ring, BG3, the Switch Pokemon games. It doesn't matter if they're good games or bad games, just hit them with enough marketing to drum up hype and they'll buy whatever you tell them to buy.

my expectation is that for the price of going out for korean bbq, I will be entertained for 30 or so hours before my attention drifts elsewhere. I did about 65 hours in CP2077. The game is vastly better with no minimap and walking on foot, as there's a shit ton of environmental storytelling you only experience if you do that. I'm bored with it for now but i have barely touched the story and it's still installed for when I wannt dip back into it.
      Mission accomplished.
The Ganker expectation is that these entertainment products will fill a voind of meaninglessness in their actual life, and when this fails to happen all manner of throwing-toys-out-of-pram occurs

Based take but honestly I still disagree with preordering the DLC, or anything from the AAA industry if I'm going to be really honest with you
Never preordered the base game and it took me a couple of years before I gave it a chance and I really liked it. Used to do occasional Fallout New Vegas roleplay runs but Cyberpunk has replaced that itch ever since I started playing it.
I wish the DLC would include overhauls for how the weapon upgrades work. It felt barebones while being unnecessarily complicated. I don't know why I feel that way. I'd rather have the damage scale on its own instead of needing to upgrade them, and focus more on attachments and mods

          Anonymous

yeah honestly I will never preorder anything just on the principle I'm only going to buy a final product. Look at KSP2.
Have you modded the game yet? I will need to revisit this as its all gonna be out of date now but I was having a blast with shit like riding the metro system and other "immersive walking simulator" addons. The game is pretty weird, it's not really an RPG, more a sandbox. I eventually got bored of fricking up gang members but it took a while for that to happen. I think the game sucks when you just drive from waypoint to waypoint, but its great when it coems to exploring suspicious looking buildings and finding lots of cool shit like the underground corpo club, the spot where jackie welles got killed, etc.

oh there's quite a bit on Nexus, if the weapons bug you there's a lot of mods and overhauls. I have really had to force myself to accept the "the enemies are tough because the RPG dice roll says so" but there's overhauls that make the gunplay realistic, all sorts of random shit. There's probably some weapon progression mods out there

I already preordered it even though I don't know anything about it. CP2077 was great.

I liked CP77 once I turned the minimap off and started walking everywhere. I'll probably buy it.
Besides, video games are just inexpensive entertainment products. A game costs about as much as going for a meal and a couple of drinks.
This shit isn't important is it?¯_(ツ)_/¯

actual dialogue system with a persuasion game baked in
    >over a dozen backgrounds you can choose from that decide your starting attributes/ stats as well as quests and dialogue choices
    >over a dozen optional traits that further your roleplaying experience (give you parents you can visit, which religion you're apart of)
    >in depth character creator where you can define how fat, muscular or thin your character is an mold your character's face
    >companions that you can romance that have their own quest lines that can be apart of your crew or base.
    >also optional companions you can hire
    >fully customizable spacechip
    >fully customizable bases
    >factions that you can actually join
    >space combat
    >can board enemy ships
    >huge variety of biomes
    >working third person animations and shadows
Kino. I will be busy playing a real RPG.

I'll just pirate it, lmao. But seriously 2077 was okay game, yes, sandbox is horrendous and the whole game reeks of scope reduction for whatever reasons, but whats left was worth it if only for all the sidequests and gunplay. Big chungus keanu hollywood bullshit can suck my dick though.

If I do a replay, what are the best/most fun builds? I did netrunner at launch and it was sweet for a while but became really OP and way too simple and unfun. So what's the best? Katana, guns, Gorilla arms... etc??

Melee builds get way too samey. Go for guns.

Wait for the DLC, they completely revamped the skill tree, removed the incremental damage bonuses from it and added a new branch. And no you won't need to buy the dlc to get this update.

It sounds like the new branch IS part of the DLC (it activates once you meet up with Song Bird for the first time) but the rest of the Overhaul is coming in Patch 1.7, which seems to be about a week before the DLC is out.

Of course people will buy it, the general consensus currently is that they fixed the base game and people generally look at it positively. It's like a 7/10 game that significantly underdelivered considering the hype and what some of the pre-release marketing lead you to believe, but it's not some 0.5/10 that everyone would swear off of for eternity.

I know I am, cyberpunk was great on release. Only people who complained about it were GTA gays who don't care about the game they just want to do random shit in it.

I liked it but come on, it's an open world populated by police and gangs and civilians and roads and verticality...it's not on rails, it's not "hubs," of course people wanted to be able to perform gameplay outside of missions in this open world.

The game was never improved or "good now".
They never added anything new to the game or what they promised, the A.I is still a broken shitty mess. The gunplay is still boring, the skilltrees are still boring, the story is still shit.
I tried playing it again a couple days ago and instantly lost all interest after the nomad intro story. This game is shit, will stay shit, and will stay shilled.

What can you actually do in the DLC? Honestly the main missions are not the best in Cyberpunk. The free roaming and finding stuff to do interested me the most.

it sounds like they are adding shit to do all over the city, one thing they mentioned is giving every Fixer new gigs, another is some Fixers will have side hustles for V once you get friendly enough with them. An example was how Dakota would start hiring V for smuggling runs across the Badlands, another is El Capitan tells V he's been working on a Chop Shop and asks you to start boosting certain cars.

speaking of romances, it doesn't seem possible to frick someone again after the first time? Judy and River are both very into me but when I call them they just tell me how awesome I am and how much they miss me but don't invite me over.

While game is laughably bad at being a sandbox which it was advertised as - it still was a very cool story. I want more.
I know that CDPR should be punished for false advertising. I’d pirate the game if I could but I play on console.
