What do you even want to change the battery in a gaming laptop for? you will never use one not connected to an outlet because they chug an elephant sized battery in less than an hour.
Learn to read you absolute Black person zoomer moron. Do you often unscrew 20 screws everytime you unzip your pants and then put the screws back on when you done peeing your mutilated penis you absolute Black person moron?
>1998 >laptop battery is running low >take out battery from pocket >casually quick swap it while walking, just need to slide it out >resume what you were doing without needing to plug it in >get annoyed by the cursor leaving a trail because it's a crappy lcd from 1998
>When you're not gaming the battery life is reasonable.
It degrades over time. After a few years of intensive use they don't hold much charge anymore.
Also there are other power-intensive applications besides gayming.
Why do most new gaming laptops nowadays have non-removable batteries?
I think gaming laptops should not come with batteries.
You wont notice a difference.
Yeah, we could even remove the display and keyboard since gamers will use proper ones anyway. We could even make the chassis bigger for better airflow and start calling it a desktop.
This is not the same situation as with a phone where its sealed shut and needs a heatgun and whatnot.
This is also not the same situation as a T440s with dual batteries for quick replacement of them. A laptop dies immediately the moment you take out its battery anyways.
All you need is a screwdriver and you can replace the battery. I believe parts are not even serialized(and I am against serialization too)
Even the most repairable laptop out right now knows to keep the battery inside
Fricking idiots, for laptops that are meant to be plugged for a long time and especially when running them at max power it's very common to unplug the battery to prolong its life. You zoomers never even had a laptop with hot-swappable batteries, shut the frick up. Unironically defending 20 screws. Embarrassing.
If you are running a laptop at full power you are doing it wrong.
In addition to that BIOS these days is smart enough not to charge batteries all the time.
Again unless you have dual battery laptop so that you can change batteries without losing progress or your laptop dying. What is the point.
I get the battery being accessible on a phone btw.
>In addition to that BIOS these days is smart enough not to charge batteries all the time.
Is BIOS these days smart enough to shield the battery from eight heat pipes dual fan cooling system attached to CPU and GPU?
Anon the battery is located away from the heatpipes.
They aren't stupid you know.
Actually that was a major design issue of laptops in the 2000s The battery pack was usually close to he exhaust.
Anon both designs have their benefits and drawbacks.
Do you think a battery pack is faultless?
For one thing a battery pack means the battery needs to be encased in a shell. The battery thus must be smaller to account for the thickness of the laptop. Or alternatively remain the same and make the laptop thicker and heavier.
There is also the issue of heat, since the battery is trapped inside the shell, a lot of the heat it generates is also trapped there with it and does not dissipate in the device, thus killing it faster.
A battery that is screwed in inside the device does not need the shell and can use the device materials like the aluminium to spread the heat.

Which way do you think is more appropriate for a gaming laptop(reminding you once again that the topic of the thread is gaming laptops, you posted two pictures of non-gaming laptops so far, I'm begging you to focus).

Desktop PC.
Gaming laptops suck for gaming and should be banned

So you admit having battery outside the case(UPS) is the proper solution for gaming, glad we were on the same page all along.

UPS is only useful to give you 5 minutes before you save your stuff and turn your pc off.
They do have removable batteries you have to open the chassis you dumb dog
Not user friendly you Black person israelite moron. There are literally like 20 screws to open
Life is going to be hard if unscrewing 20 screws is an insurmountable challenge.
> Afraid of 20 screws
ngmi
I hope the boy gets off with a slap on the wrist, you 4chuds did this to his family

>20 screws
Hahahahahahahahaha do zoom zooms really???
No you're the zoomer. Back in the days battery in laptops were easily taken out so you can plug it to the outlet
moron. Worst waste of digits I have ever seen.
wtf are you talking about
oh it's just another moronic zoomer
Of course a homosexual like you has no experience with screwing

Oh my did I hit a nerve?
I always worry that I will snap the plastic clips when I open the chassis.
I always do snap the plastic clips when I open the chassis. And I lose half the screws. Not a problem at all. Still just werks.
>2023
>not just throwing away all your electronics if their battery doesn't take a charge anymore
>gayming laptops have non-removable batteries
>open up the chassis
>see inside
>removable battery
idk what to tell u anon

How would you know it's from /misc/ without browsing /misc/?
Checkmate chud
Idk but I don’t appreciate it
they don't trust themselves to make parts user serviceable anymore.
Batteries in gayming laptops are purely cosmetic anyway.
When you're not gaming the battery life is reasonable.

I do get about 4-5hours of use from gaymin' laptop when in light use. Of course that drops to a bit under 40 minutes with blender.
Same reason new cars don't have a plug to drain the oil, so you need to get it sucked out in the shop
Why do most new gaming laptops nowadays have non-removable batteries?
I think gaming laptops should not come with batteries.

Makes me wonder if there's a market for a gaming laptop that doesn't have a battery. That's a lot of space that could be used for better cooling etc

On a single battery it's merely a minute long interruption until you're back in OS, without swappable batteries it's just dead
Read OP post again you fricking moron. I know it's hard with your adhd so play some subway surfer footage alongside it.

Planned obsolescence mainly. Also why the fans are always this proprietary garbage that can't be replaced without taking everything apart.
