Just gtfo already
>normies
I'll bite, when did normie stop being a word we can say without you pissing yourself? Is it too old a word? Did you think it's a new word? Did you think only a certain group uses the word? Please specify what moronic problem you have with the word, cause I'm curious, and then I'll laugh at you and ignore you in the future.
NTA but I've seen some autist going around complaining about people saying 'normies' instead of 'normalgays' because apparently the word 'normie' itself is a word normies would use (or was it failed normies).
When radditors and tourists like you decided that 'normalgay' was a cool term but not kosher enough to use in their daily interactions but instead making up something on their own or not using it they just to ''tone it down'' a bit and then dragged its mangled carcass back here thinking they've re-invented the wheel or some shit.
god I hate newbies
If you had actually browsed this board longer than four years you'd know the term is "Normalgay". "Normies" was an appropriation by Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit, etc because adding "gay" to the end of something implied being gay is a bad thing so they pivoted to calling everyone "Normies" to avoid that.
lol suck dick newbie
Kek I guessed right
probably not even the same autist, I just came here to laugh at you this isn't my board
there was basically frick all marketing to the general audience, but for seasoned enthusiasts, there was sponsored influencer promos from people who are generally skilled at XCOM games
Then I'll give you the same reply I gave that other anon.
I'm using normie because it's shorter and easier to type than normalgay. The same reason I write jap instead of Japanese. Not because I'm trying to avoid offending some leftoid Black person.
then just don't use normalgay if you can't even bother typing it out, you have a proper english vocabulary and a grown fricking man
Firaxis games are a sales-only kinda of stop.
I didn't bother with Civ 6 still recently
>then just don't use normalgay if you can't even bother typing it out
Yeah that's the root of the complaint - because I'm using normie instead of it.
I don't think there's a big overlap between Marvel and XCOM gameplay
Who are you calling "normie" when you follow Mr Kotaku on twitter?
If you follow video game "journalists" on Twitter you are not a Normie.
Normies mostly just watch movies.
The only game they play is cod.
This. It's crazy to see zoomers complain about how horrible games are, and in the same breath praise Modern Warfare or Black Ops. Dipshits don't even realize those games are what ruined gaming. Call of Duty brought all of the wrong people into gaming, and those people are 100% to blame for how trash almost all games are these days.
>Midnight Suns was a critical success
It was?
It means the reviewers they paid to give it a good score gave it a good score.
I didn't even see that many good scores though. I thought the best scores it got were people saying it was "decent" rather than actually amazing, and that's likely the paid people as it is.
>even the paid ratings are poor
What a total failure. Serves them right. I hope they learn from this mistake and don't drag XCOM 3 even further into the capeshit territory.
Just make a normal action adventure that isn't riddled with MTX and people will buy it.
Look at how popular GotG was despite the horrible marketing.
First impressions are super important. They absolutely fumbled theirs.
Don't worry, the same people who ruined the Dead Space remake are going to ruin Iron Man.
all of their games look cheap because they don't use the movie actors' designs & voices. That all marvel fanboys really care about. They need to make games for the movie fans, not the comic fans.
Casuals don't play games.
>turn based
>failure
WOW! Who would have thought?
because normies cant think/read?
thats why troony Legacy poor on RPG side?
Nu-XCOM and Civilization from same devs sell well.
This just didn't hit any sweet spots since moviegoing normalgays don't care for tactics games and comic book nerds prefer more traditional superhero power fantasy experiences too, and your typical tactics autists probably don't care for Marvel license that much.
Right on. Love trpgs but really dislike the superhero aesthetic. I really don't understand who this game is made for. The kids and manchildren who are into Marvel doesn't seem to overlap a lot with the trpg grog.
It costs 59,99€ and has a 49,99€ season pass.
It's almost delusional to think people would pay all that in launch even for a more traditional triple A game.
Because this is current MCU and most normies stopped watching it when they released ton of TV series and shit movies.
I've not seen a single person show genuine interest in midnight suns and all the advertisements I saw for felt really vague and bland, like oh this character will be in the game I guess, I can't even recall what the gameplay was, did they even show much before launch? marketing is probably what killed this game, I think I only really knew it existed because I watched the game awards or something and it feels like all I remember of it now it that it maybe had wolverine, ghost rider, doctor strange and some other random xmen and that everything was this weird dark grey but not quite black and this weird saturated dark yellow
everything about the game screamed dull and unappealing, it's almost impressive
The gaming audience doesn't really care for non-gaming franchises, instead they care more about gameplay.
Because they don't actually like to play as most super heroes. Spiderman has the appeal of web swinging, which is at least a fun activity because of needing the spacial awareness to be able to understand the pendulum motion real web swing gives you.
The marketing for this game was terrible. I don’t even know what it is really. Only time I saw the official account marketing it was some model dressing up as captain marvel and some shit about iron man. At least that switch game, I knew the ga play.
I will never not be absolutely buttblasted that we lost XCOM 3 because firaxis/take two wanted to get on the capeshit gravy train
I browse Ganker every day and I didn't even know this game existed.
well im 80 hours deep on this game
its like a jrpg with superheroes
>thats not a good thing
i know
Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Midnight Sons are all team based games, which suck. No one like jumping between different characters or issues commands to AI teammates.
>oh no redditors ate using the same words as me, I can't use them anymore
do you realize how pathetic you sound, redditors are stealing vocabulary and memes from you
you can't write anything other than troony seeth dilate gay Black person because all the other words in the english dictionary are used by reddit and twitter
>food analogy
>
marvel games suck
I love XCOM but refuse to consoome capeshit! Frick the mouse!
No wonder it's just a game for braindead Marvel fans to wank over
Is that the one and only Jason "if you like big breasts you're a pedophile" Schreier?
MCU fans are just casual moviegoers, not avid Marvel fans. Doesn't help their biggest game was a total frickup that died early and also put Deus Ex and Tomb Raider on ice for a good while.
They watch Marvel movies because it is considered a social event. The videogames are not a social event, so they don't care avout them. It's not about the Marvel stories it's about fitting in.
midnight suns isnt even an xcom style game, it's some bootleg ass slay the spire type shit but in 3D and looks boring because everyone's standing around in some flat circle the size of a sumo ring and slowly getting into position to do their combos that instantly wipe the enemy. turn-based can be good and even nu-xcom is an example of a decent turn based game but there's a time and place and style of presentation needed for it to not feel off-putting
>revisionists trying to pretend Ganker didn't invent normie
have you gays even heard of /LULZ/
We'll never get another Firaxis XCOM ever again.
Honestly, that might be a good thing.
NORMALgayS ARE CATTLE
AND CATTLE DESERVES TO BE ENSLAVED
>1: Marvelshit stopped being a juggernaut of popularity after Endgame came out and concluded the extent of MCUshit that everyone was interested in
>2a: Marvelshit got as popular as it did since it just relied on a passive medium (movies and a couple shows) to be "in" on something popular; video games are a whole new level of an ask for these vapid c**ts
>2b: a tactics game was just about the biggest mismatch for a Marvel game possible, since it doesn't suit the action afforded by costumed superheroes and since it's a particularly non-passive genre of gaming
