You can do a lot of things on a PC and have access to old PC games as well as old console games through emulators.
A lot of new games overuse elements that cause the game to play itself because the current standard of controllers is still pretty mediocre (1/3 of the current console controllers doesn't even have remotely good cursor control so the game has to do a lot of character and cursor movement for you).
It's really the opposite these days.
Consoles are basically locked down PC hardware.
