This is really what it boils down to. You can break down how PC is a superior platform, how the cost generally works in your favor if you view it as an investment of having a home computer and gaming device, you can talk about mods and whatever else you want, but at the end of the day normies don't think and therefore do not care. Magic box may game on TV is good enough for people without an internal monologue.

My upstairs neighbour only plays COD every fricking day. My irl friends only play COD and GTA. Haven't seen them switch to something else in a year. Normal people live in another world mentally. They're like animals

generally untrue. You can get a decent (not good) gaming laptop for like 500-700 bucks. Pop more ram in it and you're fine.

its the brainlet device for when you just want to sit on your couch and play games. dont need to build a pc, dont need to install a million programs/ game suppliers (steam/egs/ea), dont need to upgrade parts ever, dont need to worry about hardware issues, dont need to worry about making room, dont need to worry about nuffin. just pick up control launch a game and immediately start playing. consoles are the fuax-simple mans choice. the real simple mans choice is playing 20 year old games on a brand new built super pc.

I have an i9 with a 4080. I kist find PC settings too overwelming for me.
I don't really know what FXAA, SAO, V-Symc Post-Processing means, and even though I play everything at "ultra" and "max", I cant shale the feeling that I am always playing something suboptimally.
With a console, I know that I am playing at a bespoke standard that the devs intended to be best.

Because morons do not understand how to configure games, it's not even an argument some of these motherfrickers aren't fit to be called human. If your performance is chugging you turn off whatever meme setting your modern game is using like Ray Tracing, then if it still isn't good you turn off AA because jaggies are a small price to pay for a stable framerate, then you turn shadows down a hair and see what happens. What I'm referring to is called "tweaking performance", which has been a standard for PC games for decades when consoles have only just implemented a binary choice between performance and visuals, the former of which is barely an improvement because the default settings they use suck shit and are only further exacerbated by the anus-tier optimization.
This is a really long-winded way of saying that consolegays have continued to hold back vidya for decades because they choose to be moronic and have zero standards.

Like I said, it's the ideal piece of equipment for literal NPCs. Don't forget that over a million people use Playstation to play CoD exclusively, and then it was five or six times that number who mostly play CoD and one or two other games. If there's one thing that I liked about the FTC hearing it was how telling it was about demographics.
