I think it's actually a good thing, though bug too! and ninpenmaru are close if not collectathons themselves, so.... Whatever.
Burning Rangers is a short techdemo with little replay value and really bad controls. It has an amazing theme and then the game is mostly ambient noise during gameplay.
The bosses are the best parts and they are over super fast. I do think it could have been reworked into a decent 3D MegaMan style game.

The controls are fine though occasionally the camera spazzes out but you can control it, the only real issue is it is short but the randomizer helps a ton. It feels like it should have been an arcade game

They’re fine, they can be slippery on one section but that’s it. You have full camera control too
Have you played Sonic Adventure? BR basically suffers from the same issues.

I hate SA1, but i wouldn't say the controls were what made it shit.
This game's issue is that what you do simply isn't fun, no matter how good or bad the playability. You run around collect shit in random places that isn't satisfying to get to and literally shoot flames, then gen "rewarded" with repetitive cutscenes. The only thing it's worth remembering for is that it had auto jump before OoT

I actually beat it.
It wasn't particularly difficult other than running so badly that it's hard to do the reaction backflip to escape explosions. The pop-in is horrendous and the final boss is easy. The Sonic "health" system with the crystals is moronic, too.
This is one of the most unfun games ever made
Burning Rangers isn't a strong platformer. You can finish it in an afternoon, if you can get your head around the shit controls and camera.

The 3D engine in that game is weird and makes me motion sick
