Stall is at its worst because stall is so bad against stall.
If stall wasn't so good, stall would be a lot better.

Stall is one of these strategies where you have to build your team around it. That however makes your team less viable in general so most people don't want to do that and eventually end up walled by the dude playing stall.

      Anonymous

Nah there are plenty of chances to break stall. In fact, usually you can win with just one lucky crit. You can even see some of the chances that the player missed out on whether it was a bad strategy or just a bad prediction.

        >usually you can win with just one lucky crit
Suggesting crits as a counter is moronic. Those can beat anything in theory.

          Anonymous

I didn't say it was a counter. Just that it happens and costs stall players an auto lost frequently. Stall has actual counters:
          >Wish
          >Taunt
          >pivotmons
          >Rocks
          >Trapping

            Anonymous

            >stall has counters
We know anon. But the point is that you have to build around it and make your team worse against not-stall.

                Anonymous

I never said it was bad. Just that it is beatable. Like I said, the OP video had plenty of moments where a stall mon could have been knocked 0uf with the right guessing. Unfortunately, that team didn't any real answers to Blissey and had LO Rillaboom rather than a real Pivotmon.

Because it didn't build for it. The reason for why Stall works is because you either expect it(and make your team less equipped to deal with other strats in the process) or lose.

                Anonymous

No, it just didn't make sense to only have real physical attacker while the other takes a million turns just to get going...only to fail due to a burn anyways. You don't need much. Just answers to defensive pokemon which should be on your team anyways.

                Anonymous

You can have an answer to a defensive mon, but that's not enough to deal with a stall team usually. Play the fricking game and find out.

Not true. If your team can't deal with walls or ways to check switching your team is ass.

        Anonymous

You can have that and still lose to stall because you can't break all the walls.

Do you anons think for a minute when making those posts? Why would anyone run stall if anyone can deal with it so easily? Have you actually beaten a stall team with only one wallbreaker? And if you did, was it a 1200~ elo shitter or an actual competent player?

          >Why would anyone run stall if anyone can deal with it so easily?
Because people are ass at offense, even more so then stall surprisingly considering in the case of Stall the room for error is pretty big.

      This

The team relies too much on passive damage to chip away at opposing mons which is easy to withstand if half ur mons have regenerator and grassy terrain healing them. If you want a better team start with a wallbreaker and build a team around it

Taunt + Recovery is either stall or a setup, but the second case is also not so useful because Stall teams run Unaware.

            Taunt has always been anti-stall.

Sure, but Taunt alone is barely enough. The only thing that can come close to soloing a stall team is a Heatran, but is still one specifically built for it.

Stall bad because it ruins Clef's reputation. This is supposed to be a versatile mon jack-of-all-trades, not a stallmon.
