The Gen 5 backgrounds were more complex than the Gen 1-4 ones.

gen 5 has one except the floor and sky? walls? are also a gradient

<literally every battle in 2D and 2.5D games except 2.5D has a few more colors to the void
This is...literally the least of problems. GBA games had the same background for every single battle and GB AND GBC games had no background at all lol
