Too much workaround to play games. People like having thier games playable. If you needed to tweak your TV for ours just to watch movies not many people would watch TV.

Every single hobby gets better when effort is a barrier for entry.
Vast majority of games just work and anything that might take tweaking is better than many games not being available on console at all.

Can someone tell me how easy it is to pirate games on the deck. Like let's say I download fitgirl repack. Will I glitch the system out of I try to run it on the deck.
As easy as on pc
It's easy but it may fail when you try to install larger games on a 64gb deck even if you have the space on an SD card since certain installers temporarily use the main drive during install or unpack. I often had to unpack the games separately or in the case of 100+ gb gog games just give up.

I'm seeing several western AAA garbage which makes the list looks questionable.
And I do own games such as Slay the Spire, vampire Survivors, Binding of Isaac, Witcher 3, Hades on Switch anyway. I think Dave the Diver is getting a Switch port as well.

I do favor the Switch far more in terms of use, as it tailors my tastes in japanese vidya and indies, but the Steam Deck is nice for any games I can't get on Switch plus retro emulation.
